Re: CS.com Bracket Challenge

This isn't 2010, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 NDSU teams that you are playing. EWU has a real good chance of winning, just hope if they do win, the Bison can keep it close. Agreed. If EWU beats the bison in Fargo, you take down all those banners in your signature, deal? Nope, Nope and Nope

Re: NFL 2021 Draft

Looks like Cade Johnson SDSU, and Spencer Brown of UNI are on Mel Kipers Mock Draft, first 3 rounds, beside the NDSU trio. He has a 4th round grade on Elerson Smith. So that makes 6 that have played a majority of their college ball in FCS. That equals last years total for FCS players drafted.

Re: CS.com Bracket Challenge

Every favored team covers...... except EWU. I’m envious of EWU for many reasons, but if they beat NDSU in Fargo, they become de facto favorites for the title. That would take me & many other Giz fans to a very dark place indeed, so I HOPE NDSU beats them outright. Fify. :coffee: This isn't 2010...

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)

Under Minnesota sentencing guidelines, for a person with no criminal history, each murder charge carries a presumptive sentence of 12 1/2 years in prison, while manslaughter has a presumptive sentence of four years. Max is different as you stated. Edited my post above. I think both play into it but...

Same penalty for either 2nd or 3rd degree murder. Not per the MN legal code section 609. Murder in the 2nd degree receives not more than 40 years imprisonment. Murder in the 3rd degree has a max of 25 years. Under Minnesota sentencing guidelines, for a person with no criminal history, each murder c...

The third degree and manslaughter will.

Second degree I do not think so. But then I am just an armchair attorney.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)

BTW, I thought the point of charging with the different counts was to give the jury options. I guess I don't understand how you can be guilty of three charges of murder and/or manslaughter for one victim. Chauvin will be sentence on most serious charge. Link 2nd Degree Murder: also called felony mu...

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)

I fully expected it, and don’t really blame them. A not guilty would mean they & their families would face retaliation, houses vandalized, burned down, etc. CNN already plastered their faces all over TV. Sure Klan. Chauvin was guilty of murder. He is a disgrace to law enforcement. It was proven...

Sounds like a slam dunk by the jury, no questions, no request to review evidence, they knew what they wanted.

Re: Playoffs

Weren't home games by bid, and not by seed? Seeds stay home....at least I think but The NCAA’s messaging has been unclear. I know that, but Delaware wasn't a seed. I thought all games against non-seeds were by highest bid, if they were one of the sites chosen by the committee. I assume EWU would ha...

I could go with that. The consensus here is JSU os too high.

UD is the defacto #5 seed since they have a home game & then will be @ JSU for the qtr finals.
Good point. :thumb:

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)

They are sequestered during deliberation, same as the trial I was a juror for. First thing we did was to vote on what everyone thought. We went from 5 guilty, 4 not guilty and 4 undecided to 12 not guilty over a day and a half deliberation. So they had you stay in a hotel, took away your phone and ...

It's not that cut and dried. The deaths/million are close enough that it's fair to question whether the stricter restrictions were worth it. You can't just say we saved this many lives and leave it at that without factoring in the lives lost and damaged by the restrictions themselves. The deaths pe...
