Delaware Poaches Towson OC Ambrose

Post by 93henfan »

Hens hire Jared Ambrose as their new Offensive Coordinator. He has served in the same role at Towson for the past seven seasons. Towson was the #1 offense in the CAA in 2018. He is the younger brother of Towson Head Coach Rob Ambrose.

Delaware also hires Bill Cubit as Assistant Head Coach. Cubit was on the short list in the 2002 UD head coach search, losing out to KC Keeler.

Show your work, Weetag. (I trust, but verify, like Ronnie Reagan told me to last century.)

BOOM!

But seriously, you may be right. In FBS/FCS, I think Jawja Suthun is the last one (and that was December 2000, I think that's technically last century https://www.timeanddate.com/counters/mil2000.html - oh God here we go - Gil and Kalm will say it's 21st  ). I have no idea about D2 and D3.

And I assume you're ruling out the spread option employed by Urban Meyer and App State in championship wins.

Auburn? Isn't Gus' offense a modified Wing T?

Bison packed up the Veer in 1997, last DII option championship for them was 1990. It sucked at first, but Craig Bohl led us to the promised land.

That would be easier to find than that time Montana beat Delaware.

Nah, we'll just blame the refs. They probably misplaced the chains or something. :coffee:

That's fun to joke about until it actually happens to your team and costs it the national championship.

Yeah, that happens somewhat regularly. DSU has won 5 of 19 games in the series.

The more intriguing thing is, what network actually showed Delaware vs Delaware State where you live? I don't think they even showed that here.

As you can see, the crowd was electric on Dress Like an Empty Blue Seat Night: (fucking pathetic)

Just read the score, guess the Blue Hens won’t be going to NCAA.

I'm not sure we can make that call when the conference schedule hasn't started yet, but they were only predicted in the preseason to finish 7th of 10 in the CAA.

It won't be a tragic event for us, as we've only been in the tournament once in the past 19 seasons. Our golden era (if you want to call it that  ) was the 90's, when we went to the tourney 4 times in 8 years. We have never won a game in the NCAA, NIT, or CBI tournaments.

Basketball insults are never going to get a Delaware fan going. Any more than football insults will get a Brown fan going.
