Gedoudahere. You sound more like Chizzang every day. Didn’t you enter the Death Pool? Even if you didn’t, you’ve spread your share of schadenfreude around here.

Ivy only references me in less than desirable terms

Yet
Having my father return from Vietnam
and explain how many men he watched slowly die screaming in agony
crying for their mothers

Then continuing on and explaining how he and his team
would wash the feces and goo off their dead bodies
and throw out their intestines and mutilated organs
to prepare them for packaging
to be sent home in a zipper bag
stacked like lumber

:-?

So you'll pardon me for not joining the death watch

Your first statement is false. We’ve had our differences in here, for sure, but I respect your intellect, your tech expertise, and your sense of fun. What grates on me most about you is your confessed flaw that you wear like a badge of honor: Smug Prickdom. Your disagreements with fellow posters, particularly those that you perceive as your intellectual inferiors, are often expressed in supercilious and condescending terms. I can deal with all that. Just don’t play the VietNam card when we’re joking about the longevity of an old judge who may well outlast all of us. That was a low blow, even for you. You’ve called me an angry old man. There’s some truth to that, I suppose, but I spent 37 years cross-examining people for a living, and old habits die hard.

I've got some character flaws for sure
I'm a cynic and a twat when I sense someone taking the easy way out on a subject I deem critical
if I were a gentlemen I'd just let them off the hook or move on

But I feel like anybody can eventually make a hard decision
Particularly on a topic in which they cling with a loving embrace to their ignorance

So I agitate onward... when I should walk away
Also I'm not above attempting to humiliate people which is really an area where I need to grow up

Regarding my Pops and Vietnam
I know folks who don't eat meat because they've seen the inner workings of a slaughterhouse
and that detailed knowledge is kept to themselves unless you prod them...

My dad has shared a lot of stuff in regards to dying
I mostly keep it to myself unless I feel like I'm being poked

and there's more where that came from but nobody cares
Sorry about that...

I’m glad we had this discussion, Chizz. My wife calls me an ass three times a day, and she’s usually right. I think we agree about a lot more stuff than not, and I’ve learned a lot from your posts.

I comment on the thread from time to time, but I'm not in the pool.

I'm sure I also make jokes about people kicking the bucket from time to time

But there's a lot of hopeful conversation surrounding a possible vacancy in RBG's seat. and I think it is low class.

I prefer to leave that kind of behavior to the liberals

He had to have had the toughest job in the military, having to handle bodies and pack them up for shipping is brutal. I can see why he has PTSD.
