Old Jim Taylor was losing it a little toward the end. He always thought he was in one of the Carolinas. He wouldn't say which.kalm wrote:I’ll bet he thought that Carly Simon song was about him.
I bet it was North Carolina though.

Giving away my age, but I remember him, Hornung and Starr in the backfield and Kramer and Thurston on the o line. Those were great teams.

There are a lot more old pharts on this board now than five years ago. The average poster age must be well north of 50.css75 wrote:Giving away my age, but I remember him, Hornung and Starr in the backfield and Kramer and Thurston on the o line. Those were great teams.

A friend of mine stole a bottle of Cutty Sark from Hornungs car, back in his college days. Told him later in life, and Hornung signed a photo, "To the guy who stole my Cutty".dal4018 wrote:Taylor&Hornung were drinking buddies in their playing days.css75 wrote:Giving away my age, but I remember him, Hornung and Starr in the backfield and Kramer and Thurston on the o line.
