It was the chalk and what should have happened. They just flat out sucked all year. I can't count the number of games they lost where they had no business losing. It was certainly enough to win the East.
Good news is Victor Robles looks to be real and we know that Juan Soto is real. Robles-Soto-Eaton would be the best outfield they've put on the field in franchise history. Need to upgrade 2nd base, catcher and get one more starting pitcher. They should be contenders for the East again next year. Mike Rizzo is a fantastic GM.
Careful. Not all good rookie years get better.

Rockies spit the bit yesterday, how do the Dodgers always have an ace pitcher youngster like Bueller ready to replace the current older ace like Kershaw?
Tough road for Rockies, Sunday home, Monday LA, today Chicago.

The Red Sox are thrilled with Rafael Devers...
he's 21 yrs old missed 40+ games with an injury and still had 66 RBI
Just saying that his .240 average was not what they hoped they would get from him after .284 his rookie year. I think they also hoped his glove would be better, but alas, 24 errors (1016 innings). I hear announcers critical of Miguel Andujar's defense for the Yankees. He only had 15 errors in 1169 innings).

No doubt he's a sloppy fielder...
But he is MONEY at the plate with ducks on
and nobody in the Sox organization sees him getting any worse with a little seasoning
The Red Sox are loaded

Not taking anything away from him. He's young and still learning. But the MLB knows how to attack weaknesses. The good ones can make adjustments and stay one step ahead.
Sanchez sees a boatload of curveballs now, hence the sub .200 BA. His defense is the worst I have ever seen by a major league player at any position. If he can't hit, he's worthless.

So you're telling me that .186 is not a good batting average..?
How about that guy playing for the O's with $96 Million left on his contract
and he finished with a historically low .170 something
Note:
The Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla his deferred money...
On July 1st this year they cut him a check for $1.1 Million
and they will again next year and for many years to come

The O’s blew a fortune on Chris Davis, possibly the worst free agent signing ever. They should try to buy him out.
