Patrick Mahomes sets a new record of 13 TD passes in the first three games of a season. And it's not even halftime in this game.

The Andy Reid-led Chiefs are the best September football team I can remember since the Andy Reid-led Eagles.Vidav wrote:Patrick Mahomes sets a new record of 13 TD passes in the first three games of a season. And it's not even halftime in this game.

A little birdie told me the NY Gints would win their first game today, so I took the Gints money line at 230.
Lucrative.
I also took them against the spread as a hedge, and that's obviously paying out as well.

Almost got shut out. All these Vikings fans thinking their team was so great after last year. The Philly game showed them how good they were. Minnesota had an easy schedule last year, making their defense look better statistically than they actually were. Lot of Super Bowl talk by Minnesota fans this year. Who gets cut/blamed this week. Last week they cut the kicker.93henfan wrote:Bills 24

It's another to lose big to the 2018 Buffalo Bills at home.
In other news, that RTP on C Matthews today was horseshit. This is supposed to be pro football, not tiddlywinks. Jeezis.

Yeah Crawford for the Cowboys had a similar call. This new rule is a load of shit.93henfan wrote:It's one thing to lose big.Gil Dobie wrote:

How are you supposed to wrap up a guy while running at full speed, and then in midair during the fall to the ground, shift your weight so that you don't fall on him with most of your weight?Vidav wrote:Yeah Crawford for the Cowboys had a similar call. This new rule is a load of shit.93henfan wrote:

Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
Now they get the Rams in LA on a short week, and then have to go to Philly again. The Rams are the best team in the NFL right now, and the Eagles, as Wentz gets back into it, aren't far behind. Tough way for the Vikes to enter a two game road trip.Gil Dobie wrote:Almost got shut out. All these Vikings fans thinking their team was so great after last year. The Vikings looked in postseason form yesterday, they haven't looked like that since the NFC Championship game last season actually. Way to tear up that Bills D Captain Kirk.....

Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
So I've heard at least a dozen names mentioned on national sports talk TV and radio as possible Garoppolo replacements.
Oddly, Nick Foles was not one of them.
Anybody seen Howie Roseman lately?

Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
I actually like the China Doll QB rule. Time to get back to tackling fundamentals versus hitting.
Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
What wasn't fundamental about Matthews' sack of Smith? It was pretty much textbook. Williams Hayes of the Dolphins tore his ACL trying to make an unnatural tackle to avoid the dumb rule.Gil Dobie wrote:I actually like the China Doll QB rule. Time to get back to tackling fundamentals versus hitting.
And I'm not trying to be facetious on this one: If they're really worried about QB safety, designate the QB as a two-hand touch tackle or put flags on their hips.
See how many fans pay to watch that.

That tackle would have broken a China Doll.93henfan wrote:What wasn't fundamental about Matthews' sack of Smith? It was pretty much textbook. Re: 2018 NFL Season Thread
I believe it IS possible. But I also believe that it is unavoidable sometimes.93henfan wrote: How are you supposed to wrap up a guy while running at full speed, and then in midair during the fall to the ground, shift your weight so that you don't fall on him with most of your weight?
If you hit a tackling dummy (a stationary object), it can be done. But it's certainly possible that the QB moves in the same direction that you do as you go to the ground.
It's a bad rule that, while enforceable, is unable to distinguish intent from accident. Think about a receiver getting his feet tangled up with a cornerback from behind. It clearly affected the ability of the receiver from catching the ball, but the refs don't have to call interference because it can be declared unintentional.
