I think there are lot of teams that could beat them, and Weber would be on the list. Would they be a heavy favorite, probably favorite. NCAT wins some ugly, close games. That's what I'm giving them credit for.Wildcat Ryan wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:

Define "heavy".Gil Dobie wrote:After NDSU & JMU, who would be heavy favorites to beat A&T on a neutral site?kalm wrote:
That was 2 years ago, and it was 39-10, just to put up the right numbers. They also lost to NC Central the week prior, 42-21 in 2016. They have not lost a game since the Richmond game. A&T won the TOP, which is a key stat, at least looking at the game as a Bison fan. When the field got smaller inside the 20's, A&T gets tougher. Sloppy game, but A&T wins a lot of this type of game.kalm wrote:Define "heavy".Gil Dobie wrote:

I think 3-5 teams from BSC, MVFC, and Colonial each would be multiple score favorites. A&T looked better than I thought they would Saturday, but that was also against JSU. JSU dominated the game statistically but turned it over a bunch.
I also remember the last time A&T made it to the playoffs. The got rolled by a MASH unit of a Richmond team that lost 38-0 in the quarters that year.

Ok, I misread that. Richmond did beat the Big Sky Champion the previous week.kalm wrote:Richmond lost 38-0 in the quarters.Gil Dobie wrote:

Says the guy trumpeting FCS being watered down. FCS looks like 1 & 2 and then guess who this year.89Hen wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:Aggies have beaten a good team and deserve to move up in the polls.

Huh?Gil Dobie wrote:Says the guy trumpeting FCS being watered down.
I clearly remember you saying I-AA 10 and 20 years ago was much tougher than the current product. Until we play some games this year, NDSU and JMU look to be in one group, and the next 20 teams in another. A&T proved it this weekend. #19 defeating #8.89Hen wrote:Huh?Gil Dobie wrote:Says the guy trumpeting FCS being watered down.
Oh, yes. That is true. But you were fishing.Gil Dobie wrote:I clearly remember you saying I-AA 10 and 20 years ago was much tougher than the current product. If A&T beat East Carolina, they had an argument for top 10, if they already don't.89Hen wrote:Oh, yes. That is true. But you were fishing.Gil Dobie wrote:

Meh. A&T or JSU would finish 7-5 at best in the CAA or MVFC.Gil Dobie wrote:If A&T beat East Carolina, they had an argument for top 10, if they already don't.89Hen wrote: Oh, yes. That is true. But you were fishing.
Agree, I think you will see a lot of 7-5 teams this year. At this point of the season, I don't know which top 20 teams are going to step it up and finish 2nd in those conferences. At least A&T has a win against a top 20 team. There are a few teams that would run the table in the MEAC and OVC, as A&T and JSU may do this year.89Hen wrote:Meh. Agreed. Like the three year stretch Hampton went 31-2 in the regular season and lost first round... all three years. Or the two years running when Bethune-Cookman went 15-1 in the MEAC and lost first round... both years. Or that time a MEAC team won a playoff game in the 2000's. Oh wait, that never happened.Wildcat Ryan wrote:If A&T continues to field good teams like they have over the last few years, then maybe it's time for them to follow Hampton? And get into a playoff conference. Last year's NC A&T deserved a spot.
