Here we go.
Quote #1:
"The battle for American freedom was begun by the thousands of farmers and tradesmen who made up the Minute Men -- citizens who were ready to defend their liberty at a moment's notice. Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom. The cause of liberty, the cause of America, cannot succeed with any lesser effort."

Re: The "Who Said It" (without Googling) Thread
Another US President (one of my favorites) uttered all of these:
"Perhaps one of the most important accomplishments of my administration has been minding my own business."
"I have noticed that nothing I never said ever did me any harm."
"When more and more people are thrown out of work, unemployment results."
"There is no dignity quite so impressive, and no one independence quite so important, as living within your means."
"I have never been hurt by anything I didn't say."

Oddly enough, the AR-15, the AK-47, and 30-round magazines were all already invented when that quote was made.

Has a cool demeanor (can't be most any of the presidents FDR or later) and doesn't sound like one of the very early presidents. Sounds too libertarian to be most of the 20th century presidents. Re: The "Who Said It" (without Googling) Thread
My favorite Coolidge quote is: "Don't expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong".
So the next quote is:
The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.
Scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.
