GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's baseball team will look to continue its surge this week when it plays host to Harvard in a four-game series beginning on Thursday. First pitch at Latham Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m.

The Paladins and Crimson are scheduled to play a Friday doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m. and will conclude the series on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. contest. Friday's twinbill will feature a souvenir cup giveaway to the first 200 fans through the gate, and Saturday's contest will include the second baseball card giveaway of the season, featuring Furman's sophomore class.

Well there were some who referred to us as the Harvard of the South but I never really got the comparison.

I always preferred the Rose between two Thorns saying unfortunately I can't find pictures.

But the Paladin was firmly standing between a tigger and a lamecock ;)

Isn't a four-game series just a tad unusual in college?

Aren't there like 10 schools in the South that refer to themselves as the "Harvard of the South"? A lot of Yankee envy down there in the South apparently. Heck, don't VMI, The Citadel, and Va Tech's ROTC program fight over who gets to be the "West Point of the South"?

Not when it's Furman. They're always likely to cancel one.

Listen asshead, I dunno about those other schools, but you will NEVER hear an El Cid grad saying anything like that

I’ve heard West Point called The Citadel on the Hudson, but that as close as you’ll get

One out of four. That’s to be expected for Harvard against a quality Southern team.

I almost never troll but it's hard to resist with The Citadel angle.

Good trolling is like good satire

There has to be at least a tiny bit of truth to it
