In college, he wouldn't have slid. And the more I watch, the more I am convinced it was a clean hit. Flacco was running full bore, made a last second decision to slide after Alonzo had already started the tackling move.

In fact, it could have been far worse, but Alonzo pulled up as best he could. Penalty, if any, should have been on Flacco. It was 100% his fault.

Alonzo "pulled up as best he could"? You're delusional.

You weren't always this unhinged. What happened, bro?

I have watched it many times. Flacco should have slid earlier. Alonzo was trying to stop him from getting the first down. 100% Flacco's fault. No dog in this fight, just calling it as I am seeing it.

And reading opinions, there are a lot that agree with me, outside of Raven/Hen fanboys :)

Alonzo had his arm tucked. He intended to make a hit, not make a tackle. Fuck him. Defenders who make hits without trying to wrap their arms deserve no sympathy.

But Flacco deserved to feel something for sliding late.

You said Alonzo "pulled up the best he could".

I showed you that he didn't. That was my point. Your post was more unhinged bullshit from you.

Can we at least agree that Joe probably won't challenge a Linebacker to a game of chicken again..?

If you could pass that sentiment along to Carson “Mr Headfirst Dive” Wentz, I’d appreciate it!

Wentz took a few very dangerous dives last week

Yes Flacco waited too long to slide, but Alonzo hit him in the head. He should have gone for the chest. He knew what he was doing. I don't like the Ravens or Flacco. Just calling it like I see it.

Does the NFL purposely send the shittiest teams to England?

The Brits want to see some good teams. :coffee:

I'm confused, here....

I was assured by the Tom Brady fan club that Jimmy Garoppolo was a QB gem and that's why the Pats could still win with him last year...why trade him away when your #1 QB is 40? :coffee:

Because Brady assured the ownership that he's not retiring
and so they would be forced to franchise tag Garoppolo
and pay him Flacco style money to sit on the bench

The last possible minute Garopplo could stay on the team was this seasons trading deadline

The Browns offered more but Bellicheat doesn't like their ownership
and he has a soft spot in his heart for Shannahan's boy so off to the 49rs he goes

You know, generally I'd say the same thing...

However, if there was ONE team where I think they prolly know what they're doing....it's that shitbag of a team up there in Bahston.

Exactly, bandle.

So what's going to be the spin control for the Tom-Brady-isn't-a-system-QB-Garoppolo-and-Brissett-and-Matt-Cassel-are-all-just-great crowd?

Nobody that watches the NFL over time could question the New England System
And to a large degree Brady benefits from that system
but if you think there's a QB in the league that out works Brady... please reveal who that is

By "out-work" do you mean practicing? Maybe, I don't know how much the guys practice.

Is he an elite QB? Of course he is. But he's not better than Aaron Rodgers at any point in his career, was not better than Peyton Manning for most of Manning's career, and I'd argue he isn't better than Drew Brees, either. All of those guys are in lesser systems under lesser coaches.

And Brady sure as hell isn't the greatest ever, like many want to say.

This is one of my favorite NFL conversations actually...

Firstly there's more to playing QB than "Practice"
There's film study / Scheme study as well

Understanding Rout Tree against Defensive pre-snap sets (for example) is one of Tom Brady's strength
and also according to many defensive coordinators
there's nobody at manipulating pocket protection better than Brady
He moves his backs and tight ends (pre snap) into pocket protection better than anybody
He also audibles against Defensive sets better than anybody playing right now

No he's NOT an elite athlete
His arm is average at best
His accuracy is only above average (not great)

But everything else he does - inside that offensive system - is best in class
Brady has made the most from nothing of any NFL player to ever play this game (period)
Through hard work and being a master student of the game

Example:
I watched up and comer and NFL Pundit favorite Derek Carr's last few games on offense condensed
and he misses about 33% of his pre-snap reads
and misses his blocking protection against blitzes about 50% of the time
and he's considered one of the best young QB's in the league

If he doesn't put in the work he'll never get better than he is right now
He's worked to get his interceptions down but he has more work to do
He has the cannon and the physical skills - but does he have the will and the desire to work and learn ..?

You gotta give the Redskins credit... that was one ugly train wreck of a win
But beating Seattle is usually ugly

Give the Redskins some credit this year - they have 4 losses so far, 2 to Philly, 1 to Dallas, and 1 at KC. They've now beaten the 49'ers, but also the Raiders and Rams and Seahawks, the last two on the road. Not outside the realm of possibility for both wild card teams to come from the NFC East this year. If the Redskins don't find a way to keep Cousins they are crazy.

Agreed. Him and Jerry Jones are personally holding their teams back - it would be nice for the Eagles to eventually take advantage of that, but Lurie's not always been a helpful owner either. He's just not crazy like Danny or Jerry are.
