Can we just take a second to talk about how hilarious it is that the Vikes were booted in favor of a women's soccer game? Portland

NDSU leads Missouri State 24-5, start-4Q
Samford all over The Citadel 35-7, late-2Q

Weber somehow blows a coverage & gives up a deep-ball touchdown with 12 seconds left in the half. :?

The Portland Thorns are averaging 17,000+ fans per home game. PSU football isn't. The city supports soccer better than college football. Many places in the US don't give a squat about college football.

Just imagine the indignity faced on egriz if UM loses to an 0-3 PSU team while playing in a high school stadium.

Montana forces a pick on the first play and drives for an easy touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead on PSU.

OK, that's just silly. Most places do care about college football.

Portland, however, is not one of those places.

I don't have a single friend that grew up in New York, Chicago or San Francisco who give two squats about college football. Pro sports are king in urban settings while the smaller, rural states eat, sleep and breath college football.

Speaking of game day....I guess there are worse things I could be doing on a Saturday afternoon. Yard work in the heat mixed in with sports banter before watching an NAU game.

I watched some of Sam Houston State's loss to Central Arkansas after I finished watching the McNeese State at Stephen F. Austin game. Briscoe looks very mortal when there's a pass rush on him...which there was in that game. Looked at the stats afterwards and he was below 50% passing. 22 of 50 (44%) for 303 yards with 3 TDs and 2 interceptions. Also should've had another interception while I was watching as a guy broke on him perfectly but just didn't catch the ball.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

I wonder if they're being motivated by a chance to embarrass their AD/President.

This upset doesn't surprise me (I picked it, actually). SHSU has proven they can make statement wins at home (Nicholls, UCA last year), but they haven't proven they can do it on the road.

ISU(r) defeats ISU(b) 24-13 despite not scoring in the second half
TSU gets upset, losing 19-16 to EIU in overtime

Davis just scored to go up 48-17; I think we can officially stick a fork in North Dakota for this season

Hornets spotted EWU a 21-0 lead, then rally back to 21-17 late 2nd. 4th and 1 at the EWU 5 and Sears/Wulff elect to kick a FG...which is missed. EWU then gets a TD at the end of the 1st half and then rolls in the 2nd half.

Given the unlikelihood of this coaching staff returning next season, I don't know why they didn't go for it at the 5. Especially considering EWU had no idea how to stop the Hornet rush attack. :?
