Franklin Field's #1??? I like how the article gushes about it being built in 1895 and "renovated" in 1922...

Best stadium in the Ivy is Princeton and it's not close.Several Ivy League schools received shoutouts, including Yale, Harvard and Penn. The Quakers' Franklin Field gets the nod due to its unrivaled history.

Roos Field I'm glad to see EWU mentioned in there but they forgot EWU's National Championship in 2010. They credited NDSU with it in the article.
I also have to give UM more credit, WaGriz is no easy place to play. I also think MSU should have been mentioned over Franklin Field & possible over Dykehouse Stadium.

Not since the renovation. Looks like a first class place.BlackFalkin wrote:Roos Field I'm glad to see EWU mentioned in there but they forgot EWU's National Championship in 2010. They credited NDSU with it in the article.

I'm sure it looks great but SDSU's record attendance is not a sellout at 17,730/19k and Bobcat stadium is 17,777. Also MSU's stadium is at like 5,000ft with fans so annoying you'll want to turn around and tell them to STFU. Maybe they're honorable mention.89Hen wrote:Not since the renovation. FWIW, I'm not sure it's about attendance, otherwise your 8600 seat stadium wouldn't be on the list.BlackFalkin wrote:I'm sure it looks great but SDSU's record attendance is not a sellout at 17,730/19k and Bobcat stadium is 17,777. Much as I hate to agree with the #1 anti-Ivy poster on this board -- and it's not even close-- this statement is correct. The new Princeton Stadium is the best in the league.89Hen wrote:Rob Iola wrote:Franklin Field's #1??? I like how the article gushes about it being built in 1895 and "renovated" in 1922...

I have no problem with that title. If they every give up their hypocrisy and participate in the playoffs, I will become one of their biggest supporters.Ivytalk wrote:#1 anti-Ivy poster on this board -- and it's not even close

Right now the snowflakes at Harvard are still fighting over the future of the preppie "final clubs" and the unfortunates who populate them. I'm afraid the Ivy football playoffs aren't even on the radar screen.89Hen wrote:I have no problem with that title. I believe Franklin Field IS a former NFL stadium....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

It is, and it certainly is a fun thing to see, but it's not a nice stadium IMO. Track, metal bleacher, no amenities, etc...SuperHornet wrote:I believe Franklin Field IS a former NFL stadium....
Oh, and no crowds. I know I just said that attendance wasn't a big factor, but visiting a stadium that's 80% empty sux.

No, I meant a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations.Ivytalk wrote:intact89Hen wrote: Then my title remains in tact.

Sounds like Charleston Southern's "stadium".89Hen wrote:It is, and it certainly is a fun thing to see, but it's not a nice stadium IMO. Track, metal bleacher, no amenities, etc...SuperHornet wrote:I believe Franklin Field IS a former NFL stadium....

So cute to see y'all arguing about who's second.
While hundreds of fans sided with the Fargodome, the consensus winner for best football stadium across the FCS — at least among our social media commenters — appears to be the University of Montana's Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

Re: FCS football: The 10 best stadiums to visit
Top 10 attendance last year
1. Montana 25,377
2. James Madison 19,844 (regular season avg 21,646)
3. Florida A&M 19,710
4. Jackson St. 19,660
5. North Dakota St. 18,556
6. Montana St. 6 17,907
7. Jacksonville St. 17,576
8. Delaware 16,478
9. Liberty 16,377
10. Grambling 16,335
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_ ... e/2016.pdf
I'd remove:
-EWU not even Top 30 in attendance. Maybe they would be regular season avg. And the ugliest playing field I've ever seen.
-UPENN. Yeah its historic, but its in the middle of Philly with scattered city parking & virtually no tailgating.
I'd add:
-the Fightin Falwells, still I-AA this year. Those are some rowdy, sober Christians.
-MSU..
-Princeton
