I believe there was a time when 3 Eastern Illinois alumni were NFL head coaches - Mike Shanahan, Sean Payton and Brad Childress. That's probably the gold standard for FCS/I-AA.

I feel bad for Frank. He’s going to the NFL’s ultimate shithole, and maybe no Andrew Luck.

When Irsay comes to from his 3 week bender he's going to be pissed that they didn't hire McDaniels

Then he'll go on a another bender and forget he was pissed.

Reich is a serious upgrade from McDaniels. McDaniels reminds me a little of Lane Kiffin.

Honestly I'm still adjusting to the Super Bowl Champion Eagles having won the whole thing. The jokes about rings from fans of the other NFC East teams won't happen anymore. Now we're on top of the mountain. The Cowboys & Redskins haven't been good since the early 90's & the Giants have holes at every position other than guys that catch the ball.

I could watch the parade over & over until the fall. B-Dawk & T.O. go into Canton together in August.

It's good to be the king! PHILLY PHILLY DILLY DILLY!!

Two weeks ago, I just wanted to see an Eagles Super Bowl win in my lifetime.

Now I want six more in the next fifteen years.

Is that being greedy?

A guy just this morning saw my Eagles hat and said “yeah Eagles”. Then he said he was a Steelers fan and there was an implied “we have six, so you can have your little one; thanks for keeping us ahead of New England” without him even uttering it.

Fuck that guy.

That is - very impressive.

Two of them (Shanahan and Childress) coached at NAU.

The 86-89 NAU staff had a lot of impact on coaching at the NFL:

Brad Childress, OC 86-89
Andy Reid - OL 86
Bill Callahan - OL 87-88
Marty Mornigweg - RB 88

Eh, everything is made more easy with a franchise QB still with years on his rookie contract.

Not all that much that Howie needs to do this off-season - he has to decide what to do with Foles (trade or keep and let walk after next year), and decide what to do with Graham (heck, getting him on a new deal could actually lower the cap hit next year, depending on the structure). He also needs to decide what to do with Jason Peters since that's a bigger cap question. Torrey Smith will be gone, and maybe a handful of the guys who's contracts expired this year will be gone too. Can't pay everyone. But having Wentz under contract makes everything easier to deal with. Foles remains the bigger issue. If you can get a #1 for him it might be hard not to pull the trigger.

And he deserves and will get one, so long as it makes sense within the overall cap strategy. No need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Kind of like how Nick Foles wasn't going to complete 50% of his passes in the fisrt playoff game and the Eagles were going to be relegated to the scrapheap of history this past season.

Sometimes you just have to have a little faith that a great franchise will make the right personnel decision.

Who could blame me after Foles performance against a below average Dallas... heading into the playoffs
All the credit in the world to Foles and the coaching staff for that miraculous turnaround

and I do have faith in great franchises
As soon as the Eagles establish that's what they are my faith will abound
Today the question is "Are they the Ravens of 5 years ago..."

The difference is that Doug is actually a better coach than Harbaugh and Roseman is better than Newsome
So the eagle have a better than average chance to be great
But winning one Super Bowl out of 50 some odd doesn't quite make the Eagles a great Franchise

Besides being completely upside down in regards the the salary cap...
the Eagles look pretty good as far as contracts in place and player quality across the board
They look poised to win a bunch of games this season

But the Redskins have somethings like 50 Mil in cap space and the Eagles are -12 Mil
and if they weren't the Redskins that would be a problem

Snyder will fuck this up somehow
Even though he's poised to simply take the division with cash flow

The Eagles won the salary cap war every year under Joe “Nickels” Banner.

Joe Banner doesn’t have a Super Bowl ring.

Dan Snyder doesn’t have a Super Bowl ring.

Howie Roseman does.

All we heard last summer was how the Eagles were cap strapped as well.

And then they signed Torrey Smith.
And then they signed Alshon Jeffrey.
And then they signed LeGarette Blount
And then they signed Patrick Robinson
And then they signed Corey Graham
And then they traded Jordan Mathews for Ronald Darby
And then they didn't let Mychal Kendricks go

And then they paraded up Broad Street....

The Philadelphia Eagles have received multiple trade offers for quarterback Nick Foles but are setting a high price, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The sources said the Eagles' basic answer to interested teams is that getting Foles is going to take more than the first- and fourth-round picks they received from the Minnesota Vikings for Sam Bradford prior to the start of the 2016 season.

The Eagles have not actively shopped Foles but are taking inquiries, the sources said.

You always ask for more than you actually get. No sense going into trade talks and not starting high. I'd be fine with swapping 1st round picks with someone in the middle of the first round (Eagles obviously have the 32nd pick in the first round - in case you didn't hear, the Eagles won the Super Bowl!!!) and then picking up a second or a third round. That could be achievable since it would be a swap of first round picks.
