Chris Mortensen was just saying the Eagles should go after Le'Veon Bell to replace Ajayi.

Might be a nice one year rental. Give up a second rounder and get the compensatory pick back when he leaves.

The Eagles would have to wait until week 9 to assume his contract of $14.5 Mil
At that point in the season they could fit him under the cap

The league won't let you assume a cap hit that far over mid-season
So next month Laveon is in play but not until then

Of course the Eagles could "trade" a few salaried guys to Pittsburgh to squeeze him under

The teams with room right now:

Jets
Colts
49rs
Texans
Titans
Browns
Jaguars
Cowboys

Eagles restructure the Fletcher Cox contract, freeing $6.5M in cap space this year and $11.7M next year.

I saw that, but AZ has no real reason to let him go. We'd have to overpay.

Well even though the Giants are Saquon & 52 dogs it was good to see the ole gang again last night. Wentz looked good, line is still banged up, but Mills looked good minus one play & the D-line got pressure on a washed up Eli-face all night. Odell didn't even wanna be there. 3-3 & I'll be in the house for the Panthers next Sunday.

Y'ok, if you say so.

The green goblin is a massive liability out there. A good QB, like say Goff or Brady, is going to destroy him when it matters. He covers double moves like a fat kid covers broccoli.

Eagles should be able to sweep the Giants and cowboys, and worst case, split against the Redskins (the only other NFC East team with a pulse). I think the big three games for the Eagles then, assuming they win all the other games (basically win at home against the Panthers and Texans), are the Jags, Saints, and Rams, all on the road (or in London at least). Eagles win just 1 of those games and they're likely 10-6 (11-5 if the sweep the 'Skins), 11-5 if they win two, and 12-4 in the unlikely event they win all three. I like they way they'll be trending come playoff time, as Wentz will just keep getting better and better every game. They'll have to play on the road in the playoffs and likely won't have a bye, but they'll be a tough out.

The Eagles just need to stay healthy and they walk through the NFC East

I'm glad the Panthers pulled Reid in the 2nd.

Guy is an attention whore. He filed suit along with Kaepernick for not getting a job after the kneeling at SF, and then he shows his ass at Jenkins in the pregame. Then he stares down Jenkins from the field while he's supposed to be playing (and Philly builds a 17-0 lead). Jenkins also started a players org to protest all the things these guys protest, and then stood down after getting a 100 million dollar pledge from the NFL for selected social justice charities. Reid is mad at him for being a sellout

The guy sows discord and the Panthers took a chance on him and now he's a distraction again- after being on the team for just a couple weeks

These guys are no different than Terrell Owens in terms of the effect they have on teams

The moment of panic will be when/if the Eagles start losing division games. Then we'll know they truly suck this year.

Nah, the panic should be there now. The 'Skins have a relatively easy schedule down the stretch while the Eagles still have road games at the Saints and the Rams. You can't lose to bad teams (Bucs, Titans, Panthers, and Vikes) like the Eagles have and still expect everything to be honky dory. The Eagles are officially in trouble. Even assuming they beat the Jags in London next week (should be easy considering the dumpster fire the Jags are, but with the Eagles you never know) that's just 4-4. They need to go 6-2 the rest of the way just to have a shot at the division title. I'm not sure they have it in them.

The Jags have a way of getting up for big games...
they certainly don't lack talent - they are loaded across the board

BTW: How good are the Rams... They're favored by 9 over the Packers next Sunday

For the first time in three years, the Philly sports media finally got under Dougie P's collar during the day-after presser.

He did fine for about 20 minutes and then finally said to the last reporter, before walking away, (paraphrasing) "It's pretty easy to question the play calls when you're sitting up in the press box. I'm the one putting in 18 hour days, 7 days a week, and walking the sidelines. I'll make the calls, thank you very much."

Never seen Dougie get snippy before today.
