Get the brooms out...Red Sox come from 6 behind to beat the Braves 9-8 and sweep the series...

Rockies still in first. I think they are overlooked due to their history, but they have 3 very good starters. Marquez, Freeland and Gray could pitch for everyone, especially Freeland, 2.27 ERA at Coors.

DBacks have 3 very good starters. Greinke, Bucholtz & Corbin. I’m just not sure if their offense is consistent enough to pull out the division.

With their 99th win of the season, the Red Sox claim the first post-season position...

And can someone explain to me how Colorado is in first place in the NL West with a -3 Run Differential???

They win a lot of very close games. They also have several blow out losses. Seattle is very similar. Brian Shaw and Chad Bettis gets to pitch when they are losing.

Rockies and Dodgers are tied for first going into last day. Cubs and Brewers tied for first going into last day.

Good chance there will be a game 163.

The Brewers have been killin' it the last 10 games... to catch the CUBS
and the Rockies are making the Dodgers nervous

The NL is crazy right now
and
the AL was decided a month ago

I was at the Twins vs Tigers game 163 in 2009, last regular season game at the metrodome. Crowd was standing from the 6th inning on. Guy a couple rows back, had to be carried out on a stretcher, too much stress.

So we knew a week before the season ended that the AL would not have a game 163, yet MLB scheduled the AL Wildcard game on Wednesday and the NL Wildcard game on Tuesday. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Yeah, I thought that was strange too. They didn't do those NL teams any favors while the AL teams are just sitting around.

The Rockies will be in the hunt. Excellent bullpen goes great with the maturing young starters. Offense is solid, if Cargo bounces back and Story has that break out season the offense could be very good, even on the road.

It was the chalk and what should have happened. They just flat out sucked all year. I can't count the number of games they lost where they had no business losing. It was certainly enough to win the East.

Good news is Victor Robles looks to be real and we know that Juan Soto is real. Robles-Soto-Eaton would be the best outfield they've put on the field in franchise history. Need to upgrade 2nd base, catcher and get one more starting pitcher. They should be contenders for the East again next year. Mike Rizzo is a fantastic GM. :thumb:
