And 7th place is the coveted position since that will earn a 1st round matchup with the Caps vs. either the Bruins or Lightning. Sorry 89, but you have to admit that would be a more favorable path to the second round.

Bruins don't really scare me as a Flyers fan, certainly not as a Caps fan. Bolts... want no part of them. What I'm really hoping for is:

Caps > Jackets
Flyers > Pens

Then I'm guaranteed a team in the conference finals.

Well sure. But you have to factor match ups. Some teams match up with certain teams better than others, regardless of how good or bad they are. I don't know why the Devils were 3-0 against the Lightning (the NHL network hates the Devils and refuses to show them), but they did. If you said TB in 6, I'd say that's a fair prediction. You took it to the extreme which, while possible, has little basis other than 1 vs 8.
