USA beats Canada, plays for the Gold in Curling. Comeback from a 2-4 record to play for the gold.

Awesome game. Shuster's bump and run in the 8th to steal 2 was a shot he never would've made in previous Olympics. And then the decision to force Canada to take a point (and potentially 2) in the 9th in order to get the hammer in the 10th was Shuster showing some seriously big stones (pun intended). And while straightforward, his winning throw at the end of the game was great redemption for a guy who's had some bad Olympic moments.Gil Dobie wrote:USA beats Canada, plays for the Gold in Curling. I got my kids to jazz band late because they were watching the match and I stayed home until the final throw to see the USA win. I actually have a photo of Shuster with my kids at the US championship back in 2014 (it was local to me that year). Great morning - the US knocks off the women in hockey (finally) and the US gets to the gold medal round in men's curling. Tough day for Canadians.

Men’s curling? You seriously watch that?!?
I could see watching women if a Scandinavian or Slavic country is playing. Otherwise, it’s basically the Pro Bowler’s Tour, no?

The women are certainly fun to watch (Eve Muirhead - just awesome), but in men's curling you see a lot more awesome shots and multiple takeouts.93henfan wrote:Men’s curling? You seriously watch that?!?

More strategy than the bowlers tour, plus your beer is always cold.93henfan wrote:Men’s curling? You seriously watch that?!?

I don't wear pants. No need to when there is no place to go.89Hen wrote:Are your pants around your ankles?CAA Flagship wrote: I'm picturing you in a bowling shirt with your orange pants.

Gotta love a sport where the ball returns to you, there's AC in the equipment and you can eat nachos in between.89Hen wrote:I watch PBA. Always good for a couch nap.93henfan wrote:Men’s curling? You seriously watch that?!?

I had to watch bowling when my brother and I stayed at my grandmothers house. Either one of them. Jesu Cristo! Time stood still for an hour!

I feel blessed. We had to watch NHL Hockey Night in Canada at my grandparents. Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, old time hockey.andy7171 wrote:I had to watch bowling when my brother and I stayed at my grandmothers house. Either one of them. Jesu Cristo! Time stood still for an hour!

So. Am I the only other guy who stayed up to see the finals of the "Womens" Figure Skating last night. I am absolutely sure, the reasons why, are complete opposite. I'm a dirty old man watching athletic asses.
That 15 year old Russian had a fantastic one. Also, the Canadian and Italian, both legal, were sexy as hell.

No gold in women's hockey, still have to win to get even a bronze in men's hockey, and didn't medal at all in men's or women's curling. The past 48 hours have been some of the darkest in the history of Canadian sports. Poor Canucks.Grizalltheway wrote:Leafs lost to the Krauts.
