I wouldn't bet against the Rams.
I wouldn't be surprised if they made it out of the NFC, but I think the difference in coaching and QB experience would be too much to overcome against the Steelers or Cheatriots.

Foles came from behind to beat them in LA. They suck. Slow down Gurley (you can’t stop him) and they’re pedestrian after that.

The teams I see making a splash in the playoffs this year are the Jags, Vikings, and Rams.

That is hoping that the Steelers and Patriots buses get into a head-on collision. :coffee:

The Rams have come together nicely but it might be a mirage
The Jags are pretty over rated
and the Vikings are incapable of coming from behind in any significant way
So they will need to be in the lead every game they play in the playoffs
Which could happen - but if they fall behind - they're toast

If I had to bet on an NFC team it'd be the Saints. They have the best QB not on the IR.

10-4 Cap'n ^

The Saints have a few key factors working for them

1) Sometimes bad things happen in a game and you find yourself down by 10 quickly
(A Quarterback is required to get back into the game quickly)
2) Sometimes defenses blow coverages and a receivers appears wide open way down field
(A quarterback that can see blown coverages and complete 40 yard passes)
3) Sometimes you really need your defense to get a sack or pressure on third and long
(Cameron Jordan)
4) Sometimes you need a shifty little screen back
(Kamaera)
4) Sometimes it's 3rd and 2 you need Mark Ingram and his bowling ball 3 yard carries
(The fat little guy Ingram)

The Saints are capable of doing a few of these things ^

13-3 after the meaningless game loss to Dallas with the third string QB Sudfeld playing three quarters and eight starters resting the whole game.

Still, Foles looked like ass again in what little time he did play.

Eagles are a quick out in the playoffs unless they can win a 10-6 type game with the defense. I hope Pederson cooks up some sort of motivation for the team to prove me wrong.

You can't find the post where I called it a cakewalk. Go ahead, try to find it.

Eagles lucked out and avoid the Vikings or the Rams in the divisional round game. However, obviously Foles will have to be world's better than he's been these two weeks if they are to beat whoever comes out of the NFC South. The defense looked better recently, and the defensive line looks dominant again. But if you can't score in this league it doesn't matter how good your defense is. Pederson has two weeks to figure out how to craft an offense around Foles.

Playing the Panthers would be the best option for the Eagles - I don't fear them, even with Foles. I think the Falcons and the Saints both score enough points to make it hard to win with Foles at the helm, especially the Saints.

Panthers @ Saints

That would mean the Eagles get either the Lions or an NFC South team in the divisional round.

Kansas City Chiefs OC (and former UD QB) Matt Nagy is also getting interest from the Bears.

Divisional Round:

Falcons @ Eagles, 3:30 PM Saturday, NBC

Gotta assume the defending NFC Champs will be favorites with the Eagles backing into the playoffs.

I feel good about the Eagles’ chances next weekend, as long as Pederson doesn’t call Andy Reid for advice.

As I suspected, Atlanta opens as 3 pt favorites in Vegas. O/U 44.

I’d take the Eagles and the under. I think Atlanta wins something like 20-19.

Here's a wager I will make with anybody on the Eagles / Falcons game

a) Foles completes less than 50% of his passes

any takers..?
