For the record I realize the Eagles have been relevant previously. I was just annoyed when I posted that. So, whatever.

Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
With Aaron Rodgers injured and the Packers barely floating above .500, it's Carson Wentz that keeps me somewhat interested in the 11 minutes of action per game league.
They are paying me over $40 million a year, so fans can watch their favorite team in action for 11 minutes a week.

Zeke withdraws his appeal, will serve six game suspension. It makes sense if the Cowboys somehow pull out a miracle and get a wild card spot. He will be back in week 16.

Notice I said pull out a miracle. I didn't say it was likely.Chizzang wrote:Vidav wrote:Zeke withdraws his appeal, will serve six game suspension. It makes sense if the Cowboys somehow pull out a miracle and get a wild card spot. He will be back in week 16.

Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
So do you think it would have been better for the team if he would have just served his 6 games at the beginning of the season rather than disrupt the first 10 weeks with his on again-off again appeals?Vidav wrote:Zeke withdraws his appeal, will serve six game suspension. Maybe for the team but I think in this his priority has to be himself and his reputation. Taking the suspension without appealing suggests that he admits guilt. I understand why he did what he did.grizzaholic wrote:So do you think it would have been better for the team if he would have just served his 6 games at the beginning of the season rather than disrupt the first 10 weeks with his on again-off again appeals?Vidav wrote:Zeke withdraws his appeal, will serve six game suspension. Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
Why couldn't he just give the same statement he gave yesterday, or whenever, at the start of the season? In my biased opinion, he looks worse in my eyes by dragging this thing out and making everyone listen to this shit for weeks on end. Very similar to the way Brady looked worse by dragging his deflategate thing out for a year or whatever that was.Vidav wrote:Maybe for the team but I think in this his priority has to be himself and his reputation. Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
With Elliott, there was never a question of whether he hit his girlfriend, it was a question of what the punishment should be. Law enforcement decided they didn't have enough to show in court to warrant an indictment, but the NFL, after fumbling similar stuff in the Ray Rice episode and other related incidents, decided they wanted to take a stand. Given how the Brady stuff went in court, after the league got the case to be heard in the district where it was the outcome was never in doubt. Judges are loathe to step into cases where the procedures for how things are adjudicated are clearly spelled out in the collective bargaining agreement. The league followed the CBA, they were always going to win in court once it went to the same court where Brady was. Elliott should've dropped this weeks ago - heck, he had enough time to study the schedule and make the best 6 game determination of which teams he wanted to miss. I can't imagine the Cowboys would've picked the 6 he is going to miss if they could've picked them.grizzaholic wrote:Why couldn't he just give the same statement he gave yesterday, or whenever, at the start of the season? "..."I'm gonna come after you with everything I have," Jones said. Then he mentioned Deflategate. "If you think Bob Kraft came after you hard, Bob Kraft is a p---y compared to what I'm going to do."...."

I think JJ has some sort of dementia. He can seem fine one minute or for some interview then he goes off the rails.
Hope his BOD and lawyers are paying close attention.

I have successfully avoided every single down of NFL play this season.
Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
I haven't played a down in the NFL either this year. Ever, actually.ASUG8 wrote:I have successfully avoided every single down of NFL play this season.

So is Jerry Jones making all this fuss so he can get an appoint in Trumps administration somewhere or what?

Yeah. They should be starting Webb if they want to see how the future is unless he has been so bad.
