Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
OK So I got two Division Series tickets this morning in the public sale.
Unfortunately they're for Game 5. But, they're ridiculous seats.
Now I kind of have to root for the Yankees to lose two games to the Twigers just so I can go? Damn. Can't do it.

I wouldn't root too hard for that... Verlander would pitch game 5 if its the Tigers... If its the Twins you can probably safely root for a game 5.danefan wrote:OK So I got two Division Series tickets this morning in the public sale.

If the Yankees play the Twins, it'll probably be over in 3 or 4.UNHWildCats wrote:I wouldn't root too hard for that... Verlander would pitch game 5 if its the Tigers... Game 1 tonight. CC is throwing. Burnett is pitching game 2 and Pettitte going game 3. Bullpen is looking mighty good in the late innings too with Joba, Hughes and Rivera.

So in other words - I'm not going to get to use my tickets.Willie wrote:Game 1 tonight. CC is throwing. Burnett is pitching game 2 and Pettitte going game 3. Bullpen is looking mighty good in the late innings too with Joba, Hughes and Rivera.
The yanks are freaking loaded. I just hope the week+ off doesn't effect Burnett and Petite.
Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Sorry but I hope you don't. This could easily be over in 3. But I'm giving the Twins 1 game, so I'm gonna say it's over in 4.danefan wrote:So in other words - I'm not going to get to use my tickets.Willie wrote:Game 1 tonight. CC is throwing. I know I wish the same thing. I think the Twins may win the Friday night game against Burnett. Then they'll have to face CC again in Minnesota and that's a rap.Willie wrote:Sorry but I hope you don't. This could easily be over in 3. Alright dane, did you get any tickets for game 1,2 or 6 or 7 of the ALCS? I am pretty sure, with how the Angels are playing, that you would get to use those tickets...
"Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules. That these rules shall be as equal as prudential considerations will admit, will certainly be the aim of our legislatures, general and particular." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Hugh White, 1801

No unfortunately not. And the freaking tix on stubhub are ridiculously expensive.
I did get a special offer to purchase seats from the Yankees, but first I would have had to drop $12,000 for season tickets next year.
But believe me, I was rooting for the Red Sox. The Angels have had the Yanks # for the last few years. This is going to be a tough series for sure.

Pat Venditte is now my hero. He's an ambidextrous pitcher. That's gonna be a bitch for those switch hitters

Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Actually got opening day tickets this year at face value for the home opener. Bleacher seats but only $20 each. Now I'm not sure if I'll even be able to go.
Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Anyone watching the Twins/Yanks Grapefruit League game on ESPN right now?
Denard Span, Twins' leadoff hitter, fouled a ball hard into the stands in the first at-bat of the game and immediately ran over to the person he nailed. Turns out that the whole row of people were wearing his jersey. It turns out it was, in fact, one of his family members according to the announcer. It looked like the lady was hit in the area of the face and was escorted up out of the stands by medical personnel.
Crazy luck.

Yanks are lookin' pretty good so far against the Sawks tonight. Good hitting, and good pitching. Looks like Granderson was a good pick-up.

The Red Sox rally from a 5-1 deficit to win 9-7.dbackjon wrote:Yankees suck.
CC Sabathia threw 104 pitches in 5.1 innings but was clearly tired in the 5th. The Yankees led 5-2 after 5 innings but Sabathia pitched long enough to allow the tying run at the Sox tied it at 5 - 5 in the bottom of the 6th.
Re: Official New York Yankees Thread
Yeah a shitty final four innings. Oh well it's one game. Remember we only beat Boston what, 9 out of the 18 times last season...and we still won it all. So I'm not worried from one game. Granderson showed promise early. Posada was hot. A-Rod and Jeter were ok at best. 161 to go.
