Not that it’s even a worthy goal at this point, but the Eagles’ magic number for winning the NFC East is now two (one with a victory over Dallas in second game in the unlikely event it ever came to that).

Hey Chizz, don't you have access to that stat for Man-games-missed or something like that? If so, I would like to see them. Redskins have to be near the top with all the injuries they have had.Chizzang wrote:The NFC East is a disaster...93henfan wrote:Not that it’s even a worthy goal at this point, but the Eagles’ magic number for winning the NFC East is now two (one with a victory over Dallas in second game in the unlikely event it ever came to that).

Yeah those 5 lead the NFL in players on IR but it's a 53 man roster
I watched the Denver Bronco's in 2011 make it to the playoffs leading the league with players on the IR '
Coached by John Fox for gods sake and they won a playoff game...
but your point is valid (kind of)

Ho hum. Another Eagles rout. 10-1. Wentz takes off most of the 4th quarter.

Celebrations yesterday were off the hook - personally I think the defense crushed the Electric Slide.
With the Saints loss yesterday we just need the Vikings to lose one over the next two weeks & homefield throughout the playoffs looks good!

Toughest three-game stretch of the season upcoming with SEA, LAR, NYG all on the road. Need to go 2-1 there.

I agree, nobody saw 14-2 coming. I bet I'll be regretting that prediction the whole time I'm enjoying the Green Parade through Philly in early February.93henfan wrote:Ho hum. Another Eagles rout. 10-1. Wentz takes off most of the 4th quarter.

If you can't enjoy the celebrations then I believe you are dead on the inside. The bowling one was great yesterday and the various rifts on a baseball game (with Mike Trout, Eagles-fan in attendance) were also fantastic. Loosen up Francis.kalm wrote:Not to go all 89hen here but....bluehenbillk wrote:Celebrations yesterday were off the hook - personally I think the defense crushed the Electric Slide.

I have mixed feelings about them. Are the entertaining? Sometimes. Are they annoying? Sometimes. My issue is when you start seeing kids focus on the celebrations more than actually scoring. Still the greatest TD celebration... handing the ball to the ref and running off the field.GannonFan wrote:If you can't enjoy the celebrations then I believe you are dead on the inside. I also don't like that it's becoming a mandatory part of the coverage. I don't mind the orchestrated fanfare in college games as much but with the pro's it's a little too contrived for my taste.
Working on my curmudgeon creds I guess...

The Eagles should demolish the Giants. They are better than the Giants in every single facet of the game (and Wentz doesn't have downs like Eli does). I don't care if it is an NFC East divisional game (i.e. an excuse to use if they lose). If the Eagles don't completely blind the Giants with fap-juice in that game, then they are in big trouble.

The Seahawks are down far too many starters
and are NOT deep because they over pay their starters
and the Rams are a year away from reaching their final form

I seem to recall needing a 61 yard field goal to beat them at home a couple of months ago.bandl wrote:93henfan wrote:Toughest three-game stretch of the season upcoming with SEA, LAR, NYG all on the road. Need to go 2-1 there.

Worst college "tradition" has to be the Gamecocks crowing on third down. Holy shit is that awful. They were clearly going to lose on Saturday night and they still played it every third down.kalm wrote:I don't mind the orchestrated fanfare in college games as much but with the pro's it's a little too contrived for my taste.
Best professional orchestrated fanfare IMO...

The Giants are horribly awful team.
Please don't use the 'division game' excuse. It makes you look like a female.

Re: 2017 Wentzadelphia Eagles Thread
Eh, early in the season I agree with you. But late in the season, with the Giants all looking at player incentives and where they're going to play next year and what golf course they can get on once the season is over, and even a division game starts to fade. The Eagles should go up to New York and run the crap out of the Giants, while also feasting on that offensive line. There's no Beckham like there was in the first game, and the Giants are now in mail-it-in-mode.93henfan wrote:I seem to recall needing a 61 yard field goal to beat them at home a couple of months ago.bandl wrote:

The Curse of William Penn: Philadelphia always had a gentleman's agreement not to build a skyscraper taller than the William Penn statue on City Hall. This was violated in the 1980s when Liberty Place One was built. No Philly teams won a championship for a period of 25 years after the 1983 76ers.
In 2007, the Comcast Tower became the new tallest building and some construction workers decide to put a William Penn miniature statue on top the tower. Phillies win the World Series in 2008.
Anyway, Comcast has just finished a new tallest building in Philly, the Comcast Technology Center. Thankfully they are looking out for the Eagles:
