Bobcats win by 3. Hamoda just couldn't put the ball in the basket down the stretch.

Hornets apparently fought hard, and even won the second half. But that's not good enough when the difference is less than the first half spread that you lost.

This tournament effort, though, bodes well for next season should the AD find the right coach for this squad. And no pulling Deions, either. The daughter of a classmate endured that when her college team changed coaches. SMH....

The end of the season is so new that I don't think they've had time to research much less make an announcement. I haven't heard anything about removing the interim tag. SD would know better.

I think you're thinking of the previous coach. David Patrick replaced the interim guy that replaced Brian Katz.

Again, SD would know better, but I could swear that the poor record was due to the incompetent who had replaced Katz, but that the late-season replacement was ALSO an interim. Unfortunately, Hornet Sports doesn't show that, and SacBuzz is "down for maintenance."

Aaaaaannnnd the Griz get thoroughly whipped over the last 14 minutes and lose by 15. :suspicious:

I don't feel like looking it up, but I wonder if this is the first Big Sky Tournament winner to have a non-DI loss?

Interesting as the Bobcats lost to Rocky Mountain earlier in the season. Rocky finished last in the Frontier Conference tournament and the Bobcats won the Big Sky tournament.

Are you saying if Rocky was in the Big Sky Conference that they would win it?

Naw. I watched both Rocky and Portland State play this year. Bears would not have been able to get by the Viks.

Just saying how interesting those early season outcomes are. Rocky wasn't playing nearly as good at the end of their season as they were at the beginning, and the Bobcats look like a totally different team now.

Something else that could be interesting is if the Bobcats draw Houston in the first round. Kelvin Sampson got his start as a head coach at Montana Tech (another Frontier Conference team) back in the early 80's.

Never mind, Venus. It appears that I've conflated Sac's position with that of UOP, my other school. Oh, the joys of supporting two schools within relative commuting distance. SMH....
