SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

ISU put up 101 on the road in Bozeman, they will finish regular season at .500. Not bad for being picked 11th.

http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2018/m ... in-rout-o/Along the way, Bliznyuk moved up two spots to third in the Big Sky career scoring list. He has 2,045 points. That’s 32 points behind Weber State’s Jeremy Senglin (2,078 from 2013-17) and 67 behind first-place Orlando Lightfoot of Idaho (2,102 from 1991-94).
Bliznyuk also inched closer to another record. With three more successful foul shots, he’s made 68 in a row – five off the single-season mark of 73 set by Gary Buchanan of Villanova in 2000-01.

Re: Big Sky Basketball Thread: 2017-18
Eagle fans need to enjoy this while they can because, given EWU's lack of depth, Bliznyuk is likely to die of exhaustion on the court next week.kalm wrote:http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2018/m ... in-rout-o/Along the way, Bliznyuk moved up two spots to third in the Big Sky career scoring list. Montana has clinched #1 (NIT at worst).
Idaho has clinched #2 because they win any tiebreaker with EWU/Weber.
NoCo has clinched #5 because they lose any tiebreaker with EWU/Weber.
Suutah has clinched #10 because they lose any tiebreaker with MSU/NoDak.
MSU & NoDak are now guaranteed to play each other in the first round.

Coaches' Futures Analysis - Men
Here are my thoughts on how safe, etc., each men's Big Sky coach is right now. This is assuming no future possible scandals, of course.
Shantay Legans (EWU) - Safe. Unlikely to be hired away (first year).
Barret Peery (PSU) - Safe. Unlikely to be hired away (first year).
Brian Katz (SAC) - Probably Safe. This has been a bad year, but Katz has a good excuse and 2 more years on his contract.
Don Verlin (ID) - Safe. I doubt he'd be hired away unless he's desperate to leave Moscow.
Bill Evans (ISU) - Probably Safe. I think he's in his contract year (I couldn't verify), but expectations are understandably low in Pocatello. A first-round tournament win is probably enough to guarantee he stays.
Todd Simon (SUU) - Safe. He may feel some heat if they don't do better in conference next year, though.
Randy Rahe (WEB) - Safe*. He won't be fired, obviously, but rumors are abounding on the Weber message board that he's already agreed to take the Colorado State job after the season's over.
Jack Murphy (NAU) - Probably Safe. He should to be fired, IMO, but he's still got 2 years on his contract.
Travis DeCuire (UMT) - Safe. I doubt he'll seriously entertain offers this offseason since Montana returns nearly everybody, but it wouldn't be surprising if he leaves in 2019.
Brian Fish (MSU) - Probably Fired. He still has another year on his contract, but I'm guessing he's gone unless Tyler Hall agrees to return with Fish still there. The team is playing like they've quit on the coach.
Jeff Linder (UNC) - Safe. He's won 20 games in the midst of major NCAA sanctions, so he obviously won't get fired. He's been rumored (suggested?) for the CSU job, so I could see him bolting if Rahe doesn't.
Brian Jones (UND) - Safe, but who cares? This year hasn't been good, but NoDak went to the NCAA's last season and Jones signed a 4-year extension right after that. Of course, he won't be in the Big Sky anymore…
