Wasn't sure if this has come up, but it's looking like a decent chance that Wichita St has played their last season in the Valley and is headed for the AAC.

Guess they were rebuffed by the Big East and Atlantic 10.

Dayton and VCU apparently turned the AAC down, BTW.

Why would a state school go to the Big East?

Why wouldn't they? The Big East got 7 teams in the tournament.

OK, to put it another way… why would Wichita State think the Big East would even give them the time of day? All 10 schools are private and 9 of them are Catholic.

Usually it's Publics having a problem with inclusion of religious schools, not the other way around.

Wasn't the difference a reason why the Catholic-7 wanted to split off from the old Big East, though, or was it just a football vs. non-football thing?
