Western State vs. Montana 9/5 1:00

Who's going to be in Missoula for this game..?
- Big 10 Football - So boring Wisconsin is our most exciting team...
- Big 10 Football - Where 117th ranked Purdue is dominant...
- Big 10 Football - Where team speed and passing offense are not required...

Western State is pretty bad, I'm not sure if they could even beat Mullen high school.

The Mountaineer Bowl in Gunnison IS the highest elevation of all divisions of college football. It is tough to walk up to the entrance from the parking lot.

Well, for one week, the Griz backups will be able to brag that they have better stats than the starters.

They have always been a great little program, and they are always in shape. They have been playing tons of real young kids for the past couple years. The hired a new coaching staff three years ago, and the program was on it's back. This team has won darn few games in the last three years, and are expected to finish in the bottom half of their conference this year. They have no business playing Montana, but they do need the money. Hopefully they won't lose half their squad up there. Now if UM ever has the misfortune to schedule a powerhouse D-II squad and subsequently over look them, they could suffer some embarrassment ala MSU a few years back against my kid's Chadron squad. None of the RMAC teams look to be a threat to most FCS teams this year.

I'd like to see UM do what Weber is doing right now, testing out MWC or WAC teams a bit for ooc games.

MSU's match up with Dixie is not any better than the UM/WSC one is BTW.

Agreed, and agreed. UM should be playing Idaho, Boise, Utah, Utah State and Wyoming on a regular basis.

Or at least USU, Idaho, CSU, Wyoming, Nevada and Wash. St. Many of those are bus trips and close enough for fans.

Playing the bottom of DII (Western St.) is equivalent to Weber playing Western MT (NAIA).

Glad to see the Griz stepping up to face the big boys. Let me guess Montana is the only Big Sky team that isn't playing a Bowl Championship team this season.
