Uhoh Andy....Towson loses its leading rusher

Veteran running back Matt Castor (Linganore H.S./Mt. Airy, Md.) will not be returning to the Towson University football team for personal reasons, it has been announced by Coach Rob Ambrose.

Despite missing four games with injuries, Castor led the Tigers in rushing last season. In eight games, he ran for 543 yards on 144 carries and scored five touchdowns. A member of Linganore’s state championship team in 2003, he ran for 844 yards on 208 carries with seven touchdowns in his three-year collegiate career at Towson.

Towson opens its pre-season camp on Monday, August 10.

I hear earlierthis week that we were going to lose someone. He was a good RB, but bandle is right, our running game was pathetic.

Ambrose has been trying to run off a lot of the players to get only the true believers and then get his own players in.

Long story short, quitters are best gone. I have no need for them.

His back up lost his 3 month old daughter this Tuesday. If thats not a reason to give up on life, what could possibley be?

Well prior to my old HC taking over the OC job in '06, we averaged over 1500 yards rushing a season. That average was halved with the dink, dunk, draw offense that got Gordy fired. We had some strong running team in the PL days.

Of course nothing comes close to the 2969 rushing yards we racked up my senior year. And you Dukies jerks can't ever take that away from me.
