Big Sky QB Bloodbath

Post by kalm »

6 out of the 13 starters are out.

Must be those hard hitting Big Sky defenses.

Here's hoping 4 star recruit Jack Tuttle who is supposedly transferring from Utah will unexpectedly pick Weber....heck it could happen, a 3 star WR de-commited from UCLA to play for Weber

I was guessing it was more likely carpal tunnel or Tommy John surgery from repetitive throwing.

I was hoping for ISU, he doesn’t have to redshirt for FCS, and Gueller is leaving so there is a starting spot to fill.

Haha!

4 BSC teams are in the top 20 and before last weekend, 2 were top 10. 8 teams are in the top 50.

There are 5 BSC RB's and one QB who are in the top 20 in rushing yards.

Cripes...there are even 4 BSC in the top 50 in rushing defense.

For comparison, their are 2 CAA teams in the top 40 (JMU 38, Towson 39).

Get back to me when you're playing a TE at QB

...or a LB...

Two can cherry pick.

Total Defense
5 James Madison
8 Maine
16 Villanova
27 Elon
30 Rhode Island
31 Delaware
32 Weber St
34 New Hampshire
38 Stony Brook
40 Towson

By my count that's 9 to 1 in the top 40. 8-)

Yep good defense vs good offense.

There's also some difference in oppnents. BSC defenses tend to face a few PAC 12 offenses each year which are pretty tough. For example, compare WSU to UCONN. Or for FCS OOC compare Holy Cross to SDSU.

IIRC, the few times a CAA team faces a BSC team in the playoffs, the scoring is above the CAA teams average.

But my point is that BSC offenses are getting more run happy and there are a few defenses that are improving as well.

Good grief, you've gone to the Gil Dobie School of the Obvious.... playoff teams tend to be better than average regular season teams.

Put it this way, in 2010 EWU was held under 21 points only once until the NC game when they only scored 13.

Still 10 above UD’s ppg allowed ( if I use your math. 8-) )

And we put up 38 on Nova the week before and that was the worst offense we've had datimgvfrom today back to 2006.

You’d be better off citing the W&M - Weber playoff game. (Just trying to help you out)

Towson snuck in there too. :ohno:

They had a really good offense that year...kind of like this one. :)

Perhaps last year’s Weber State offense which was held to less points by SUU, a 1-10 Poly, and WIU than JMU?

SUU, the team Weber split with. JMU was 1-0 vs them, so yeah, nice point.

CAA defense > Big Sky defense

Never said it wasn't. Just that the Big Sky defenses face better offenses and that the defenses haven't been improving a little.
