Worst Performance: Portland St. 23, Montana St. 43 - The Viks allow Troy Andersen & Isaiah Ifanse to run for a combined 311 yards and 4 touchdowns as they lose their 11th. straight conference game.

Most Surprising Result: Idaho St. 25, (#22) North Dakota 21 - ISU's big guns get the job done: Ty Flanagan & James Madison each had 100-yard rushing days, while Michael Dean & Mitch Gueller each had 100-yard receiving days.

OVC

TSU 41-40 EIU
TTU 20-48 JAXST
SEMO 14-23 EKU
AP 7-37 UTM

Most Surprising Result: (#24) Austin Peay 7, Tennessee-Martin 37 - I guess the Govs wanted to do the retro thing after halftime and relive their pre-2017 days. :?

Pioneer League

tru 34-20 VALPO
DVDSN 21-42 DAY

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 2-13

Best Performance: Dayton 42, Davidson 21 - It took a little time for Dayton to adjust to Davidson's new option attack, but they countered a 14-0 deficit with 42 consecutive points.

Worst Performance: Valparaiso 20, (DII) Truman St. 34 - I know the Crusaders are having QB-injury issues, but that doesn't explain the 265 rushing yards they allowed.

Most Surprising Result: Valparaiso 20, (DII) Truman St. 34 - On the plus side, this was only FCS's 2nd. loss to a non-DI this year (it's actually 4 officially, since North Alabama technically counts a DII opponent this year, but I don't believe most people will think of them that way).

Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.

I believe Sneed's rushing performance was also 8th best all time at UM.

So Sneed runs for over 200 is the best, but Portland State letting TA and the Cats do it is the worst?

Doing it against Sacramento State is an accomplishment. Doing it against Portland State is expected.

Exactly. My thoughts were that losing to MSU by 20 at home was a hair worse than losing to EWU by 53 on the road.

And Sac State is way better than Portland State.

So both defenses did not show up.I know a person on Twitter who said the Tigers allowed too many big plays.

There has been a bunch of hay made over that kickoff return, but anyone who saw the game knows it was in the bag even before the return. Mercer’s D was as gassed as I have ever seen a defense. We would have won in overtime if we hadn’t driven after the kickoff. The last half of the 4th quarter they couldn’t stop anything

They went 8-4 last year & lost virtually nothing. I'm not sure why that was surprising.

Meh. They beat nobody last year. They could go 8-3 this year and beat nobody. Voters are suckers for W-L.

Well, OK, but we're talking about the bottom of the top-25 here. Those are the types of teams that should go there.

Also, Austin Peay lost only 1 FCS game last year.

I get that, but I hate participation medals and a vote for AP at 22, 24, 25... is either a sympathy vote, a participation medal vote or simple a lazy vote by a voter that sees a good record.

IMO, and I get it's only opinion, AP would be 6-6 or 5-7 at best with a MVFC or CAA schedule.

One would have thought that Super Dave's number would have been retired by now....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

It is. He wasn't wearing the number, just the colors. And they weren't really throwback jerseys, either, they were just modern uniforms with throwback colors.
