For the first time in my lifetime, Delaware is not wearing gold pants in a game this evening.

Delaware botched a punt snap for a URI TD. The defense has been fine. Offense finally woke the fuck up.

Oh boy URI (picked to finish last CAA) just went up 21-13 late 3rd.
I'm waiting to see the signs that UD is back to a national power. Not seeing it yet.

Finals:
Maine 35, UNH 7. CAA preason #8 destroys CAA pre season #2. UNH QB Tevor Knight, who threw for over 3k yatds last year and was the CAA preseason offensive POTY of the year, was apparently taken off in a cart 1st half. Biggest win of 2nd year Maine HC Joe Harasymiak, the youngest HC in all of Div I when he was hired at the age of 29 in Jan 2016 . Frankly, this might be more schocking than the URI/UD result. Congrats to Maine. MaineJeff sighting in 3,2,1..

URI 21, UD 19. CAA preseason #12 beats CAA preseason #3. While I predicted UD would win this game by a couple scores, I said on the JMU board CAA Media thread that URI wouldn't finish last. Congrats to URI. HUGE win for them. Biggest win of Jim Fleming's 3 years as HC. URI gets its 1st win against a ranked opponent since 2011 and snaps a 22 game losing streak against ranked opponents.

The CAA, like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

I could have told you that before tonight. We're starting some QB named Kehoe, our 3rd stringer last year. The negro transfer from BC came in fat and out of shape and too dumb to learn the playbook and the cracker from App St was a bust last year from the get-go and did not take any chance to improve in the offseason.

Check back with us in 2019. Hopefully we can rebound after 8 straight years out of the playoffs.

God we suck. Rocco looks to be a low energy candidate.

We are so untalented it's almost laughable. Kehoe actually played well at QB, could easily be the best QB since Hurley back in '13. Which doesn't matter because we lack playmakers at pretty much everywhere. UD football will continue to be in the wilderness for awhile still. We suck.

Btw, somebody on GoHens made my favorite quote of the night.

"Has Delaware ever been eliminated in August before?"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

The worst part is, it doesn't even bother me anymore. Delaware has been so bad for so long and the Eagles are Super Bowl Champions. I listened to WDSD out of curiosity and I won't be tuning in to any games the rest of the year. Nothing compels me to.

As far as JMU vs NC State noon ECB ESPNU (JMU -11 as of yesterday)

NCSU QB Ryan Finely (threw for over 3.5k yards last year/had a steak of 300+ passes without an INT) is projected by some as a 1st round draft pick/1st QB taken. 3 of their top 4 WR are back.

Off last year’s defense JMU lost 7 starters/6 All CAA/5 had shots at the NFL (UDFA or rookie minicamps)/4 were AA. Of the 4 starters who are back 3 were all CAA/are pre season All CAA. Both corners are pre season AA (Rashard Robinson is a returning AA/pre season CAA defensive POTY). Get a 2016 starter back at LB who missed all of last season & 3 P5 transfers. JMU might be tops in the country on the edges, but are thin & inexperienced right uo the middle (DT, ILB, safety). Lost 1 of 2 starting ILB to broken collarbone in camp, out until sometime in Oct and a couple other defensive players out.Midday summertime Carolina heat & humidity (1 pm projected 91degrees/heat index 102). NCSU OL avg 6’4”/316 with a 235 lb RB. I’m just as concerend about get pounded up the middle as I am about Finley.

JMU offense lost 6 starters from last year, 3 All CAA (icluding Shore at & AA/UDFA Titans OL. Starting QB will rJr Ben Dinucci, transfer from Pitt who started 6 games last season. Jr Cole Johnson, backup last 2 seasons, will reportedly also play. Have a couple OL & Cardon Johnson back from injury back. 6 OL have started between 1 and double digit games.
NCSU lost 8 starters off their defense, including all 4 DL drafted 1st 5 rounds, including Chubb #5 pick. JMU should be able to move the ball if QB & OL are decent.

NCSU, 9-4 last season, projected similar this season. 7 players drafted 1st 5 rounds, tied Ohio State for 2nd most drafted. Preason in 2 major polls ranked 30 something by ORV. Tooo much talent for NCSU, to much inexperience for JMU (started 13 seniors vs NDSU in Frisco, only 3 senior slated to start today).

My prediction is NCSU 38, JMU 20.

Good thing you avoided Delaware in the regular season this year, because our QB juggernaut would light your shit up!

Final NCSU 24, JMU 13.

Total Yards- JMU-365 NCSU-392
Pass- JMU-202 NCSU-309
Rush- JMU-163 NCSU-83
1st Downs- JMU-23 NCSU-25

DiNucci- 23 of 27 1TD, 0 INT, 79 rushing. Did have the fumble inside the 10..

I’m pleasantly surprised we didnt get blown out. Started only 1 senior each side of the ball.
Of the 11 starters on defense who started vs NDSU, only ONE played today. Only 4 returned. Besides All World Rashad Robinson out for season, another was injured and All CAA DE Darrious Carter was reportedly suspended for 3 games. Also the 3rd and 4th corner were out. The 5th & 6th corner (both Soph) were constanly getting picked on. I had predicted 38-20. If I’d known what we would have available today vs a projected 1st round draft pick QB & 1-2 projected NFL WR, I would have said 52-20.

On 3 1st and goal had a fumble and 2 FG which killed us.
