Bison get commitment from LB with Kansas State, Cincinnati offers
Nice commit for next years recruiting class. Not often do the Bison get a 3 Star recruit that has offers from several FBS schools.

FARGO -- The North Dakota State football program got its first verbal commitment for the 2019 recruiting class. It appears to be a leadoff home run.
Middle linebacker Luke Weerts from Batavia, Ill., held scholarship offers from the likes of Division I FBS schools Kansas State, Rice, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Air Force and Ball State, but on Wednesday announced he was going with the FCS Bison.
For a change, the FBS trend of not scheduling NDSU caught the attention of a recruit.
“Honestly, all the FBS teams don’t want to face NDSU,” Weerts said. “It’s a cool place and I don’t see the culture changing at all. I see them staying the way they are and that’s what drew me toward them over those FBS schools.”
he 6-foot-2, 230-pound Weerts is a three-star recruit in Rivals.com’s five-star system. The online website lists him as having 17 scholarship offers including Missouri Valley Football Conference schools Southern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Indiana State and Illinois State and future league member North Dakota. Weerts said NDSU was his third offer.

K-State and Cincinnati have ZERO shot at a title....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

JMU just got a commit from a 247 3 star/Rivals 2 star RB with 16 offers. Half of them are IA, 1 being Purdue.

That said, I dont get excited at 3 star recruits with a slew of I-A offers. Like I pointed out on the JMU board:
-Of the five 3 star (by at least 1 recruit service) recruits signed 2014-2015 under Withers, only 1 panned out.
-Of the three 3 star signed by MH 2017, 1 looks great so far, 1 jury still out on, 1 didn't last a season.

Play in a 50k seat stadium or 19k?
Play in the BIG 12 of Missouri Valley?
Your rival's stadium seats 60k or the 12k seat Alerus Center?
Play 11 games on national tv or three(Post season only) ?
I could go on.....

We don't have any games schedule for the Hillerus Clown Center yet. We play at Target Field in 2019, at Oregon in 2020, and at Arizona in 2022. Kid might like winning championships (6 out of the last 7), vs playing football in the Big 12.BlackFalkin wrote:This kid is an idiot.Gil Dobie wrote: Middle linebacker Luke Weerts from Batavia, Ill., held scholarship offers from the likes of Division I FBS schools Kansas State, Rice, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Air Force and Ball State, but on Wednesday announced he was going with the FCS Bison.

Oh you will, don’t worry. The MVFC will have them on your schedule in a season or two. My point is, it’s K-State & he ain’t Carson Wentz! The expression FCS (and probably MAC) players say “if you’re good enough the NFL will find you” is something I actually agree with. However, with the exception of winning an FCS Championship, any great experience he could have in Fargo (North frickin’ Dakota) will be better Manhattan Kansas.Gil Dobie wrote:We don't have any games schedule for the Hillerus Clown Center yet.BlackFalkin wrote:

BTW... Stop being salty about that “ASS BEATING“ (Buck Buchanan Award winner) J.C. Sherritt put on the Bison in OT back in 2010 quarterfinals. You guys just weren’t........tough enough. Take that L
