JMU getting a #1 vote is dumb. NCAT getting a #1 vote is criminal and should be punishable by jail time.

I think McNeese is ranked a bit too high - their record was against really weak competition...

So Nicholls losing in the first round gets them IN the Top 25. Gotcha.

I still believe Weber deserved the #3 spot but finishing #5 is huge for the program regardless as it is the highest ranking ever in Weber State history.

They played nobody. At least 20-30 teams in I-AA would have gone undefeated with that schedule.

AGS had Weber at #4, I voted them #3 in AGS.

Yep. Their resume was was similar to SDSU's but beating WIU, a seed in SUU, playing JMU tight and SDSU's semi final tipped it for the cats.

You know, one thing about FCS is that if you don't get an at large bid you always have yourself to blame because if you want to get in you can win your conference. McNeese had a chance to do that and managed to lose big to Central Arkansas in spite of clearly being able to move the ball better.

But, still, how can the committee let Monmouth in and say McNeese isn't in because they didn't have any quality wins? And by the way Monmouth lost by two touchdowns to a 4-7 team while both of McNeese's losses were to playoff teams. To me there's no way McNeese should've been left out; especially given that SRS thing the NCAA uses. The only plausible explanation is that they just didn't want to give the Southland four bids.

I didn't think about it exactly like that but I think the answer is "yes." On the other hand one might say that at this time in history the Southland should be a one spot league with only the automatic bid going. I don't know if any team from the Southland would've made the playoffs this year if they'd been in the Missouri Valley. And the Southland auto bid was beaten at home by a team that I don't think should've gotten an at large spot and that lost it's starting quarterback before halftime.

Yes other leagues have had success against the Southland conference but for some strange reason I think Stephen F.Austin will eventually become the power of this conference and then challenge for a FCS crown down the road.
