Best Performance: (#19) Weber St. 28, (#11) Eastern Washington 20 - Stefan Cantwell outduels Gage Gubrud, putting up a 162 efficiency rating to Gubrud's paltry 103.
Worst Performance: Idaho St. 17, UC Davis 56 - With a chance to finish with their 2nd. winning record in 14 years, the Bengals get threshed in their own barn.
Most Surprising Result: Montana 17, (#18) Northern Arizona 15 - An oddball game for so many reasons: Montana plays a WR/TE at QB for nearly the whole game & wins (Makena Simis had UM's second 100-yard rushing day of the season); NAU's starting QB is ejected for targeting in the first quarter; both teams had a season-low in points against an FCS opponent; UM's leading receiver, Keenan Curran, finishes the game with more interceptions (1) than catches (0).

I'm sure you'll bemoan this as the pussification of football, but it was the correct call as the rule is written.
Best Performance: (#22) McNeese St. 13, Southeastern Louisiana 3 - SELU was averaging 308 rushing ypg coming in, and the Cowboys held them to 77.
I hope I don't jinx them by saying it but McNeese has yet to allow any team to reach 100 yards rushing this season. In both of their losses they had a significant edge in the statistics in terms of first downs, rushing yards, and total yards. I think that they can be pretty decent if they don't give up big plays in the passing game as well as non offensive touchdowns like they did in those two losses.
If they don't make the playoffs they will have really wasted a situation in which they appear to be pretty darned good physically on defense.

Not surprising. In our homecoming game at Lodi this year, the Stockton-Bear Creek quarterback SHOULD have been ejected for targeting the DB who had just picked him off (also our kicker). Alas, there wasn't even a flag on that play. SMH....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
It is the pussification of football- a line backer isn’t defenseless..
Defenselessness isn't required. Leading with the shoulder/head toward the other guy's head (& hitting) is targeting whether the player is "defenseless" or not.
Cookus tried to manufacture some "tough guy" cred by smacking a defender, and it backfired big time.
Best Performance: Central Connecticut St. 28, St. Francis (PA) 10 - The Blue Devils hold SFPA to just 32 passing yards to set up a winner-take-all showdown with Duquesne this coming Saturday.
Worst Performance: Robert Morris 7, Wagner 27 - The Colonials allow 8 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss against the (formerly) last-place team.
Most Surprising Result: Duquesne 24, Liberty 27 - A.J. Hines's 253 rushing yards aren't enough to prevent the Dukes from blowing a 24-7 lead.

I went to both last year's 84-7 JMU win over URI, and last Saturday's 38-3 win. URI with their new starting QB (transfer from New Mex, has started the last 3 games) is way better than last year on both sides of the ball. The 2 games prior to JMU were 35-34 loss to Elon (missed PAT) and 31-14 win over Albany. IMHOP the 2nd most improved CAA team after Elon, even though URI's record doesn't reflect it. They really should/could have been 5-3 coming in- should have beaten C Mich (lost by 3 in OT), should have beaten Brown (lost by 3), and should have beaten Elon.
That said, in the 1st half JMU played their worst half of football in a long time, worst I've seen offensively since 2013, and were only up 7-3. Houston probably peeled paint at halftime. 2nd half JMU puts up 31 unanswered...
22nd straight win, 15th straight by double digits. Also the 16th straight CAA win, breaking a 50 year old record held by UMass from 1965-1967 back when it was the Yankee Conference..

Well, they're competitive now, which haven't been since 2011. Only blown out in 2 of their 7 losses, and both of those were only the 2nd half: Maine (down by 2 at the half, lost by 24) & JMU..
