AFL <> NFL 1960-70. The NFL was still getting most of the better players from college, until the Jets won the Super Bowl.89Hen wrote:AFL = NFL from 1960-70. NAIA < Division III < Division II < Division I.Gil Dobie wrote:

The odd thing is you have enough I-AA titles that you don't need to put up such silly ones, but hey, use whatever stats you want.Gil Dobie wrote:AFL <> NFL 1960-70. That's a great milestone, congrats. But still a silly list IMO.Gil Dobie wrote:Just put it up because we passed a milestone win on Saturday, #700.89Hen wrote: The odd thing is you have enough I-AA titles that you don't need to put up such silly ones, but hey, use whatever stats you want.

In the NFL record book, that only works for teams that came in from the AFL. I don't believe they count any stats from the AAFC, or the leagues that failed (including at least two other AFLs) before that.Gil Dobie wrote:No, but if you list the Oakland Raiders all-time wins, you include AFL, NFL and Los Angeles wins.89Hen wrote: So when we list NFL QB's all-time wins, we should include their college, high school and Pop Warner totals. SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Thanks, now we have to dread Gannonfan's 4+ paragraph JSOesque diatribe on how Delaware's College Division wins and national championships count because the College Division was the equivalent of what FCS is today.89Hen wrote:Then your thread title is misleading.Gil Dobie wrote:

Do you have a very strong argument? Yes, the college division was essentially the precursor to FCS/I-AA. Was it exactly the same? No, so it is not an absolute truth.GannonFan wrote:Yeah, I don't get it, truth is something to dread anymore? Who knew.89Hen wrote: Well.... it is (was).

FCS isn't exactly the same as I-AA either. Different name, different playoffs.UNI88 wrote:Do you have a very strong argument? Yes, the college division was essentially the precursor to FCS/I-AA. Was it exactly the same? No, so it is not an absolute truth.GannonFan wrote:

Each division has it's champions, but each school also has it's championships. App St doesn't lose it's championships or wins, by moving to FBS. Yale still has 27 championships and 896 wins, and is a FCS school with 896 school wins, and 0 FCS championships.

I'm curious as to why you'd put that last qualifier in there. You didn't put any in before.Gil Dobie wrote:Yale 2789Hen wrote: So when we see a list of all-time I-A/FBS/BCS National Champions it should look like this...

To show that I was listing FCS school and their all time wins, not all time FCS wins, just the schools all-time wins.89Hen wrote:I'm curious as to why you'd put that last qualifier in there. You didn't put any in before.Gil Dobie wrote:

So you've taken away Yale's D-I championships but allowed NDSU to keep their non D-I wins. Gotcha. I think we're done here.Gil Dobie wrote:To show that I was listing FCS school and their all time wins, not all time FCS wins, just the schools all-time wins.89Hen wrote: I'm curious as to why you'd put that last qualifier in there. Nope, haven't taken away anyone's wins school wins nor Yale championships. Just qualified Yale's championships. If you want a thread that shows school wins in the division they are in, you are welcome to start a thread about it.89Hen wrote:So you've taken away Yale's D-I championships but allowed NDSU to keep their non D-I wins.
