Tough to choose between those last three but the MVFC is > the SLC. SDSU and YSU have more recent playoff relevance than USD and and WIU. The latter two have more to prove to be deserving.

If it were MY poll I'd list WSU @ MSU ahead of the SAC @ EWU game.

Yeah, this is kinda like the CAA last week. None of the games were very sexy this early on.

I don't think Delaware is ready to shake up the world just yet, but their D can make even a #1 vs unranked matchup interesting.

If only we had a QB. And an OL.

"None of the games was very sexy this early on."
That sounds wrong. But what do I know.

I do think Sam Houston State at Central Arkansas is the obvious game of the week because it appears likely that's the game for the Southland automatic bid. But I must admit that when I looked at Delaware's schedule/results I came to be a little more intrigued by the JMU at Delaware matchup. Losing 27-0 to this year's Virginia Tech team isn't bad. Put it this way: I don't think JMU would be undefeated if they'd played Virginia Tech instead of East Carolina. And yes I know about the historical upset but I don't think so.

Obviously I still think JMU will win. But there's a certain "we don't know how good Delaware is" aura to this game. There are indications that Delaware has a good defense. The 27 points Virginia Tech scored against Delaware is its lowest point total of the season and the Hens gave up 14 and 3 points in their other two games (albeit against suspect competition). A lot of unknown here.

I voted JMU @ UD, but that was just the homer in me. IMHOP I think its:
1. SDSU @ YSU. 2 of the top 3 in the MVFC besides NDSU. Both are coming off of a bye week. Both get NDSU at home. 2nd game of the season with 2 top 5 teams.
2. SHSU @ UCA. UCA coming off a bye week. If SHSU wins this one they'll probably go 11-0 again, get a top 5 seed again, and then get steamrolled again in the quarterfinals or semis.
3. JMU @ UD.

Make a case for the SLC game? Sure. It's the "obvious" pick? No. SDSU has 3 legit Payton award candidates going up against the National runner-up from last season. Both are ranked in the top 6 or 7 and come from hands down the best conference in FCS vs. the 5th or 6th best conference.

With UCA beating SHSU, that might mean no seed for SHSU even at at 10-1, considering:
-No way will the committee seed 2 SLC teams, and if UCA finsishes 10-1, they'll be the SLC seed.
-SHSU won't have a quality win if UR doesn't make the playoffs (doesn't look like they will at this point)..
-SHSU didn't play a IA, played a Div II..

Central Arkansas has former Houston Oiler WR Haywood Jeffires son on its roster playing DB.
