Prior to Western Carolina: In two seasons as the starting quarterback, threw for 4,980 yards and 47 touchdowns in leading Cane Ridge High to a 20-4 record ... As a senior, completed 185-of-297 passes for a school single-season record 2,907 yards, setting a school benchmark with 28 touchdowns against seven interceptions, leading CRHS to an undefeated regular season, a Region 6-5A title and the program's first two playoff victories ... Collected Region 6-5A Offensive MVP plaudits, as well as all-region offensive player of the year honors ... Became the first player in CRHS history to receive the 2016 William E. Hume Award which is given annually to the top football player among Metro Nashville schools ... Also received the Hancock/Nipper football sportsmanship award from the Nashville City Civitan Club ... Was listed as a two-star athlete by 247Sports.com ... High school head coach was Eddie Woods.

Darryl will be a senior wide receiver for the Wildcats this season. In his three seasons at Weber State, he has played in 28 career games and has 83 career receptions for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns.

2016 (Junior)
Played in all 12 games for the Wildcats, helping Weber State reach the FCS Playoffs...Had 48 receptions for 549 yards on the season, second most yards on the team...Also had five touchdowns and averaged 45.8 yards receiving per game...Had at least one reception in all 12 games and had six receptions for a season-high 93 yards and a touchdown against Northern Arizona...Also had seven receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in WSU’s win at UC Davis...Also had five punt returns for 25 yards and had 12 rushing attempts for 50 yards.

2015 (Sophomore)
Played in all 11 games and started 10 games at wide receiver and punt returner for the Wildcats...Totaled 26 receptions for 397 yards and one touchdown...Had a career-best game of seven catches for 130 yards and one touchdown in Weber State’s come-from-behind win over North Dakota on Oct. 17...Also had 71 receiving yards against Sacramento State and 71 at Eastern Washington...Also had 10 carries for 56 yards...Ranked fifth in the Big Sky in punt returns with 16 returns for 107 yards, an average of 6.7 yards per return...Had a seasonal best three returns for 51 yards at Northern Arizona.

2014 (Freshman)
Battled injuries throughout the season but still appeared in five games as a true freshman after signing with Weber State in February 2014...Had nine receptions for 210 yards and one touchdown in the five games...Had three catches for 97 yards at Montana State, including a season-long 36-yard reception...Followed that up with five catches for 100 yards and one touchdown against Portland State...Also had nine rushing attempts for 62 yards and had a season-long 22-yard rush at Northern Arizona.

Vista Murrieta High School
Played wide receiver and cornerback for coach Coley Candaele at Vista Murrieta High School and earned Second Team All-League honors...As a sophomore helped lead his team to a championship...Also played basketball and baseball.

Personal
Was born June 9, 1996, in Riverside, California...Full name is Darryl Kevin Denby II...Parents are Darryl and Felicia Denby...Has two younger sisters, Alesia and Alexia...Is majoring in Communication at Weber State.


One Highlight they left out for 2016 is Darryl Denby caught the game winning touchdown to cap a 23 point comeback victory over Rival Southern Utah.
