UD's Kametz ready to play DT

Kametz is healthy and will be an important part of a revamped D-line.

While playing defensive end allowed him to unleash some of his athletic skills, Kametz finds the interior fray more to his liking.

"I like being in the middle. I like contact and just messing around with the big guys," Kametz said. "That's just the way I've always been. That's my style. I like the physical part.

"Playing defensive end taught me the mental part of figuring out your opponent and working in space and doing some things you can't do at tackle. Being back at tackle, I can use some of those things when I get a one-on-one with the guard, in the nickel situation or a second-and-long or third-and-long."

And with the added weight, Kametz said, "I'm not getting pushed around. I can hold my own against double-teams. I'm not being pushed back to the linebacker level and messing them up."
