Aug. 30, 2008. Let the Coastal smack talk begin.

Penn State will do plenty of smacking themselves. We don't need to say too much :yikes:

No, but my guess is $400K-$500K. I think the Coastal AD is a Penn State grad, so maybe PSU gave him an alumni premium.

Correct. Warren "Moose" Koegel is a Penn State alum - played under JoePa before heading off to the NFL. Don't know how much cash is guaranteed or if there was some kind of "alumni premium" involved - but I do assume that his connections with JoePa likely helped in some fashion to secure the game.

I almost fell out of my chair & had to verify it before I posted. How the hell is CCU playing Penn State? UD plays Maryland next year, but I wonder what it'd take for us to play them once.

A common open date. I'm really embarrassed by Penn State's new scheduling strategy. We played Youngstown last year and now have Temple, Buffalo and Fla. International on the 2007 schedule. Penn State has been contacted by Colorado, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina, but none of them appear on our schedule through at least 2009. At least we have a series with Alabama coming up.

YSU was paid $350,000 to play in Happy Valley in 2006.
YSU will play at Happy Valley again in 2010 at the same price, or around $350-400k.

gotta get Keeler to rub JoePa's bunions, that'll certainly help your case!

Coastal's QB is the brother of former PSU QB Wally Richardson too. Wally works as an athletic adviser at Penn St now.

You want to raise the price on us? I guess they didn't teach you anything about supply and demand at YSU.

Actually he's an academic adviser in the athletic department. I guess I can see how a guy from CCU might forget about academics though.

UD-Penn State is one game I'd LOVE to see! :)

Damn, Joe Pa recently came out to Delaware (the state of) to make a big showing of signing a recent Delaware H.S recruit. Keeler should have tackled Joe then and roped him into a game.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

If you mean exciting in the sense that it's exciting to watch a baby seal being clubbed to death, then I have to agree it will be exciting.
