Meh. The logo looks a bit out of place. Not terrible. Not great.

Yeah, the logo looks out of place (too glossy) and the color of the face mask isn't correct, but I think that picture is just an early example and not the final product. The rumor is that these are just for one game next season, probably either homecoming or the UM game if I had to guess. On another note, these are the new gloves for next season. Not sure what I think.

Yeah, I agree. I tend to think the logo they put on there for that photo is probably just one of the ones they had lying around from one of the regular red helmets. I doubt that's what the final logos will look like. The bigger issue is the color of the face mask - it doesn't seem like the correct color. I'd rather see a black or even white face mask. That color looks almost orange to me, dunno.

I am a fan of the black helmet look, but the red facemask just doesn't do it for me.

Not possible, since the logo on the red helmets is black with white lettering, not red with white lettering. I really hope it's just a prototype, because as is, it looks half-assed and busch-league. The concept is great, just have to do it better. Darken the helmet to a blacker matte black, matte logo to match, and either darken the red on the facemask, or go black or white on it.

Also, I doubt we use them for just one game. We're not Oregon; we don't have the budget to have a new helmet for just one game. We'll probably use it a fair amount... maybe all home games with the black, and use the reds for away whites.

I like the idea but that looks like a Snowboarding helmet with an ugly mask added.

If they did something like that with Sac's helmet, I would flat-out HEAVE.

I also don't believe the finished on-field product will look like the image. There's always helmets sitting on the table. Most are for the team to autograph.. I really think (and hope) that's not the finished product.

If you look closely at the pic, the logo was clearly just slapped on as an example. Part of it is covering one of the vents and it's too big for the space. Good concept though.

The matte finish will help to reduce the glare off of the maxi-pad.

This is much better. I like the logo and it is much easier to read and appreciate with this color.

CatBlitz22, I really liked the blue helmets you guys wore in the Griz/Cat game last year. They were very sharp. The Cats should have kept them.
