First off good luck man. Second of all as far as i can tell with Southern Utah:

Offense: Spread offense with some ace and I-formation, mainly shotgun (probably Utah, BYU or USU playbook would work)

Defense: Looks to me like a basic 4-3 even though we have gone into a 3-4 set at times.

Appalachian's offense is somewhat a combination of Rich Rodriguez's and Urban Meyer's.. though we've been starting to incorporate some other stuff like the pistol formation. If I was picking out a playbook to use for it I'd probably go with Florida's.

We have a new defensive coordinator this year. It will be similar to what we have run... but taking away the bandit linebacker, more blitzing, more cover 2 and less man to man. But, for defensive playbook you can just pick 4-3.

Elon runs a spread offense, mostly shotgun, with a little bit of single back. Usually 3 WR, 1 TE, and 1 RB.

Defense is a 4-3, with more coverage than blitz.

Southern will use a more run heavy approach. Lots of I formation, a little single back, and some shotgun. I haven't seen the playbooks on NCAA in a while but I'll say Alabama's would work.

Defense will be a 3-4.

Alabama A&M - run heavy, 4-3
Alabama St - spread (pass first), 4-3
Alcorn St - spread option, 4-3
Grambling - balanced (run first), 4-3
Jackson St - have a new OC this year haven't heard philosphy yet, 4-3
Mississippi Valley - same as JSU don't know the offense, 3-4
Prairie View - one back (run first), 4-3
Texas Southern - spread (pass first, texas tech), 4-3
UAPB - run heavy (wisconsin), 4-3

That's the swac

I have no fucking clue. New QB, New co-OC. Will have to wait on TXST unless someone else knows.

We have run the spread with wildcats thrown in. Last year we had to move away from 60/40 run/pass but we have Reddic and RS frosh RB Dexter Imade (who stood out at the spring game) with Bush returning. Our running game will be in high gear this year and we still have a loads of talent at WR and TE.

The D is never very defined, to me. It's basically a crap shoot (literally)

Cal Poly runs the triple option on offense and the 4-3 on defense.

Sac State

Offense: Various Ace and Shotgun formations with multiple TE and WR looks.

Defense: Last season was a 4-3 set with some Nickel packages. Supposedly a new DC is taking over for this season and I don't know if any serious changes will be made.

Offense - shotgun west coast seems the best way to describe it. We are in shotgun 99% of the time, sometimes with 2 or 3 guys in the back field, usually have at least 1TE 2 or 3 WR...went 5 wide quite a bit last year too though. We tend to have a 2-1 run to pass ratio

Defense - 4-3 zone coverage

I would have said the spread, so surprise offense...

Hopefully that changes this season. ;)

Yeah, to be more accurate it should be called the "Spread/No Huddle/Belly Option for no gain" offense. :x

I want to start off by thanking everyone who has posted info on teams.I am a very hardcore football fan & from some of the post that I have read not everyone is sure what is spread what is west cost offense.I am going to describe in detail what each offense & a hybrid of it , so you can make a decision based on the offense that I describe & what team runs it in the BCS or the NFL.

THE SPREAD there are many types of spead offense's in footbal today there is the spread optionalso know as the WILDCAT teams like the Auburn Tigers , Florida Gators, Oregon Ducks & Michigan Wolverines use most sets are in shotgun formation with lots of running from the QB & the Tailbacks.
There is the Air Raid former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach mastered. He had his QB's throw the ball & throw it often.Forget bout the running the ball the offense uses short high percentage passes instead of running the ball.Instead of running this offense wants to get the ball in the hands of all five skilled receivers , including the running back. This style of offense attacks all areas of the field.Preventing Defense from keying on certain tendencies.Teams like Houston Cougars , Kansas Jay Hawks(with former head coach Rick mangino)
Most if not all spread offense are out of the shotgun set. There is also the Multiple set spread that is more balanced with it's run & pass plays.Virgina Cavaliers , Missouri , Illinois , New mexico , Cincinnati , Utah all ran a Multiple Spread Offense
The Pistol Offense ran at Nevada bye Chris Ault , the wold pack have had numerous 1000 yard runners at QB , RB & 1000 yard receivers all in the same year.In this offense the tailback will line up about 3 yards behind the QB while the Qb is about 2 yards behind center in shotgun formation.San jose state ( under Dick tomey) ,San Diego State , Rice & Iowa State would run a Pistol offense in 2009.
The Flexbone/Option run/triple option. Georgia Tech Stunned the FBS with its triple option run bye no other then Georgia Southern former head coach Paul Johnson.Army , Navy , Cal Poly , The Citdal ( 2010 offense)
West Cost offense. The QB operates under center with two HB , FB & TE with 2 WR.The pass opens up the run.USC , Washington , Cal all ran a west cost offense.
Pro Style/Vertical Offense Notre Dame ( 2009 under former head coach Charlie Weis) , Rutgers , Arkansas , Florida State. You need a big armed QB for this offense the offense likes to stretch the field vertically two back sets similar to the west coast offense.
One back/Single back Offense Oregon state ,Arizona State , Idaho all ran SB offense.
Smash Mouth Offense this offense wants to run it down your throat. They use the run to set u p the pass teams like Alabama , Iowa , Wisconsin Fresno State.

Liberty:

Defense: 3-4/Nickle 3-3-5 at times

Offense: Ohio State's offense with Pryor will probably be similar to the offense we run with Mike Brown.

You're going to see a whoooole new team this spring. Yeah, they'll be our players and our uniforms, but it'll be different.
