BREAKING NEWS: EDWARDS TO SIT OUT ALL-STAR GAMES

Post by SmallCollegeFBFan »

Appalachian State QB Armanti Edwards will not play in the Texas vs. Nation All-Star Game as they feel he has too much rehab to do. He informed all-star game representatives today that he would pass on playing in a game. While his injury won't require surgery he feels that it would be best to rehab as much as possible for the NFL Scouting Combine where he plans to perform a full workout.

After what happened to Bush I think he has made a wise career decision. I still say Bush came back too soon from his ACL injury and look where that got him.

Hope this is for the best. I also hope playing against Elon in the second half and in the playoffs doesn't cost him a shot at the NFL.

Also, a question for you, SmallCollege. Who advises AE on these types of decisions? Is it just App coaches? Does he have an agent that would be pushing him to play or to sit out the all star games? Just curious as I hope it's the right decision.

That's too bad. Nice to see him play in that sort of environment. Don't wanna see him risk damaging himself and thus robbing us seeing a special talent play at the next level though.

Agreed. Giorgio-Armanti Edwards has to preserve his keen fashion sense for future generations!

He and his agent from what I am told. I think it was a good decision. He really does need to rehab.

A good move for Armanti, getting ready to have a good work out is the most important thing at this point. Even though I hate that this injury has hampered him from showing his talents and ability to some people in the country who haven't seen him yet. Hopefully rehab goes great for him and he's at a 100% in a few months.

Being able to do a FULL workout at the combine is critical for these "fringe" players.

I think it's a good decision - he's got little to gain by playing, and his knee likely isn't 100% right now anyway. Focus on the payday, not playing with a bunch of stupid college kids.
