I'm also a big fan of Zable. I think it's a nice stadium and love the delis right by the stadium.

-rJr TB Dae'Quan Scott (ankle vs Alcorn/missed WVU) Probably JMU's best offensive weapon. Backup Jordan Anderson rushed for 858 last season and for 75 on 17 carries vs WVU, so he's no slouch. 2 other TB have seen PT with starting O.
-rSo WR Daniel Brown (ACL vs WVU- out for season).
-rJr DT Jordan Stanton (concussion vs WVU) JMU goes 5 deep at DT.
-rSo SS/Hybrid Titus Till (ankle vs WVU)Started at MD last yr. Maybe JMU's 2nd best defensive player. Backup rSr Jamie Veney was an 08'-09' starter, missed last 2 years.

Well:
-JMU minus it turns out 3 starters (one not listed on 2 deep did play) + lost starting LT in the 2nd qtr.
-JMU clearly didn't bring their A game
-URI played much better in their home opener than they showed on film last week @ Villanova.
-JMU was minus 3 in turnovers.
-URI's only TD was on a fluke play that made #3 on ESPN Top 10 (replays showed the receivers knee did touch the ground)

URI most of the game put 8 in the box to try to force JMU to throw. Who would've thunk that JMU would only rush for 151 vs URI but pass for 347? Thorpe went 26 for 40 for 340 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs (one of the INTs was a last play of the half heave to the end zone).

JMU won 32-7. Wasn't exactly pretty, but I'll take it.

Got one wrong this week: UD

Score predictions were just bad. My worst week in a long time in the GoHens spread pool.

God dang it, 6'5", 300 rSo Austin Lane, transfer from Syracuse who played a bunch in the last 5 games last season, started one, started 1st 4 games this season, broken foot, out for season...

Good thing JMU's OL while not as good as NC 04' or semi finalist 08' is as deep as it's ever been. Lose one 2 yr starter in the offseason, lose starting LT for season vs URI, but still have as replacements which will either be:
-6'3" 290 rSo Matt Cunningham, who started last 5 games of last season and came in versus URI when Lane went down.
-6'6", 295 rSo AJ Scott, transfer from Marshall & Dae'Quan Scott's cousin who started 1st 8 games last season before going down to injury.

His knee was down. You can clearly tell during the 2nd showin in slo motion. Incompetent officiating kept JMU from pitching a shutout.

BDK, has anyone ever told you that you do more talking at people than talking to/with them? It sorta feels like you're having a conversation with yourself in the corner of the room sometimes.

He seems like a real intelligent guy. But I was a little take aback by the string of self-quotes.

The URI receiver's knee was down though. The play really didn't belong in the ESPN top 10 or whatever it was.

I can't do AGS either. The owners are great guys, but every time I go over there and be myself I feel like I cut across some old man's lawn. It's just a different crowd. I feel the same way about GoHens.

Yeah. It's like when my wife is hosting a Bunco game and I walk downstairs to get something to snack on wearing nothing but boxers and scratching my ass. The 12 women in the house simultaneously get a look on their face as if they are smelling dead fish.

Agree. I sat in row 10 on the goal line for last year's ODU game. OK when play was inside the 20 on my end. Otherwise I had no idea where the ball was.

And the W&M coeds are still homely. It's incredible. I have been tracking this for 32 years and they haven't budged on the meter.
