Merlin scores with 3 secs left in regulation and then beats Torson in sudden death.

That's disgusting, Andy!

I was pissed. I was at my parents house watching it. They’re both Twerps alum. And very loud after.

Defending National Champs JMU (finished 22-1 last year) doesn't have it this year. Are 16-3, unseeded. If get by SBU today in the 1st round face, #1 seed Maryland on Sunday.
JMU was upset last week by SBU in OT 10-9. Doesn’t matter, they would have lost to #1 MD. JMU was crushed by MD 18-5 earlier in the season. MD beat SBU 17-8 in the 2nd round.

And now I can resume not caring about lacrosse for the next 50 weeks...

It did involve UVA being the beneficiary of the call, so I'd say yes. :D

Maryland up by 5 in the last quarter, UVA comes storming back. Scored four in a row and win the faceoff, so a chance to tie. Shot rings the crossbar so hard the ball comes all the back to midfield out of bounds. They're getting ready to reset and a ref comes running in calling it a goal. If you've watched LAX you know that the nets are pretty slack and slanted, so any shot that goes in just below the crossbar goes down and in.

Any blown call that results in a rule change for the sport automatically qualifies as one of the all time worst...
As a former college lacrosse official and as a high school officiating evaluator, I cringe every time I watch the replay of Virginia’s goal that sent their NCAA men’s quarterfinal game with Maryland to overtime Saturday.

The reverberations from the blown call are sure to continue to shake up the lacrosse officiating world for months to come and possibly usher in the first video-review system for televised NCAA lacrosse games.

It was BS. As much as I dislike the Terps, it was bad. If you hit the crossbar and it doesn't comeback in, or bounce and comeback in, lacrosse balls have wicked spin, it ain't a goal. The rule is if it hits two poles, its a goal.

Doesn’t soccer have some kind of electronic scoring thingy that indicates if the ball has crossed the line or not? If so, just install that, at least for the NCAA tourney.

I've never seen such a stupid call in a college game. It ain't worth it. Its clear as day on replay.

And no replay should have been needed. Never has a lacrosse ball gone in the net and rebounded out to midfield.

One of my suspicions about high school soccer is that games are frequently officiated by someone who has experience officiating football and/or basketball games and is looking to make extra money off season or on weeknights. They read a book and pass a written test but don't really understand the game. Could it be similar for LAX?

Yes. It ranges from former players who want to run around and be around the game, to dip shit retirees who just want to be assholes.

MaryCate7171 went to the NC on Sunday at Hopkins.

Both Mrs7171 both responded “Is she a goalie?” Which caused Thing1 and Thing2 to laugh and make fun of us. Some “famous” attacker from USC. Still don’t care to know her name.

Me neither. I know my oldest's friend is going to Oregon to play next year. And that Stanford had a team. It's growing really fast out west. And the womens game more so than men, offsetting football scholarships.
