I like Notre Dame, used to watch the Ara Parseghian show every Sunday as a kid. But they don't belong as an associate of the ACC. I don't think they win today, but it seems that Clemson has had distractions in the past week. Might be a good game.

But most ND fans I know (I have several colleagues) are insufferable cunts when ND is good, and largely silent when ND is down

Notre Dame IMO is a victim of their own massive Wal-Mart-hat fan base.

When you make obscene amounts of money every season from TV and can fill big stadiums 1000 miles from campus, there's no incentive to spend to go beyond being good to being elite.
