I like that Clemson/NC State game. If the 4th team in the playoff comes down to a one-loss Clemson and a one-loss Notre Dame, comparing how the two did versus a pretty good NC State team just one week apart from each other could be interesting. Other games are big too, especially the Va Tech/Miami game, but Miami could be irrelevant if Notre Dame trounces them in a couple of weeks.

ND would have beaten: Michigan State, USC, NCSt, Miami and Stanford (one point loss to UGA).
Clemson would have beaten: Auburn, Va Tech, NCSt (loss to unranked Cuse)
I really don't think it would or should come down to anything else.

I always love to watch intrastate rival games when both teams are ranked fairly high.

Oh please oh please let's have Notre Dame and two teams from the same conference in the playoff. That'll put us that much closer to going to an 8-team playoff.
