http://www.businessinsider.com/college- ... sts-2017-9The FBI arrested 10 people on charges of fraud and corruption in college basketball on Tuesday.
The Department of Justice announced Tuesday that college basketball coaches at University of Arizona, Auburn, University of Southern California, and Oklahoma State University had been arrested, as well as managers, financial advisors, and representatives of a major international sportswear company.
Jim Gatto, director of global sports marketing for basketball at Adidas, was also named as a defendant. According to the complaint, Gatto allegedly conspired with coaches to pay high school athletes to play at universities sponsored by Adidas (referred to as "Company 1" in the case).

Re: Adidas college basketball scandal
Apparently might just be the tip of the iceberg - none of the named defendants have even been asked to flip and provide more information for a lesser sentence. It will be intriguing who gets caught up in this. Already rumors that a player going to Louisville was involved so that could implicate Pitino, who's already being suspended a few games by the NCAA for his last fiasco.

Former NCAA official told me today this could end up as the biggest college sports story of our lifetime. "It's also the least surprising."

Now the Adidas I possess for one man is rare
Myself homeboy got fifty pair
Got blue and black cause I like to chill
And yellow and green when it's time to get ill
Got a pair that I wear when I'm playin' ball
With the heal inside make me ten feet tall

As long as it's only the big boys in college sports getting hut by this, I'm absolutely lovin' it!
With the stories about fraudulent college courses and athletes getting in trouble for selling autographed memorabilia, it has been very easy for the poor, poor, pitiful oppressed college athlete narrative to propagate.
Glad to see there's a big outrage story on the other side of fence to keep that in check.

L'ville needs the death penalty if (when) they are found to be in on this after their strippergate issue.
This is going to be a good story.

Good riddance. He was almost exhibit A of what's wrong with coaching in basketball today. Amazing that it took this many scandals to finally do him in.CAA Flagship wrote:Pitino is out as coach of Louisville
