OK. We all know what the name Pontiac stands for as an acronym. At what point did you actually realize you were not driving a Cadillac? And did you become angry?

Ok. Great.

So, the G5 National Championship would still be a NC.

Problem of no longer being able to compete for a NC solved. :thumb:

No. They're in the same division as P5 and compete for the same crown. They also find scholarships to the same level.

This really isn't that hard.

Better troll attempt, except I do now drive a Cadillac.

FCS is also in the same division as P5. And, not all of FCS schools fund scholarships to the same level.

I should have said subdivision. Still doesn't change anything.

All FCS schools have the same scholarship maximum. Still doesn't change anything.

FBS has attendance minimums.

I know this. I thought it was funnier because of that. Like one day you woke up, read the badge on the back of your G8 and were like, "SHIT! This is not a Cadillac. What the hell?"

I haven't watched Miami in maybe five years and it only takes seconds to remind me why I hate them. They are still the thugiest of the thugs. As Charlie Murphy would say: mad niggerish.

Miami dominating Appy with size and tempo early. It would also help if Appy would wrap up on their tackling. Their arm tackling has been atrocious so far. Hope this one doesn't get away from them early. Already 14-0 in the 1st quarter.

Damn. This one seems over. Time to watch the Bizon.

Hoping for an Appy miracle on my DVR at this point.

So basically:

FBS ASU is a lot like FCS ASU, except that they didn't have to travel for the ass kicking and no paycheck.

I do.

I think it was a bad move, at least from my perspective. I understand the arguments that were made for it, though.

That said, I'm going to be snarky every time ASU gets this kind of "exposure" we kept hearing about

Fair enough. Did you congratulate App on the Bowl win last season, or just snarkily downplay it in lieu of what could have been with a playoff run? I truly don't remember.

And I was against the move myself. But the past is over, and it is nice to be able to compete at whatever level you are at. For us, it is G-5, and that has gone over well so far. Miami is a better team and proved that today. Hopefully App competes well with the rest of the schedule.

Of course I did! Maybe not on this board

Personally, I prefer a shot at a run in the playoffs rather than a bowl.

Look, even DII schools put butts in the seats and play with enthusiasm, and they'll never sniff a FBS game. At the end of the day, you want to be able to compete at the highest level WITHIN your own level. For ASU in FCS, that was a realistic, yearly proposition. I also liked ASU in the SoCon, I grew up with ASU in the SoCon. I think they sold their soul for FBS and for what? The best they can hope for, year to year, is one bowl game played against another mid major school without even a top 25 ranking in play.

Oh and bragging rights over GSU. Which they already had in FCS.

And the highest level within your own level can be argued, from a G5 point of view, as a lesser bowl.

I understand your point, and argued it quite a bit before the change. But reality is just that, and I'll move forward and hope for the best. (Akron hung 65 points on Marshall today, and we play there next week).

Congratulations on the win over Gardner-Webb today!

Well, yeah I guess.

Especially since if ASU went undefeated this season they would still just get that bowl game.

This is the third week we have had to come behind in the 4th to beat teams we were supposed to beat by 2 or more scores. I'm concerned about the better SoCon teams.

GSU holds off ULM with late FG block.

And it looks like the Eagles have a kicking game this year!

That's the only good thing I can say about that game, and this team right now. ULM is a team we should beat by 4 TD's

I get it, we have a new young coach in his first ever head coaching job, but my GOD you have got to do better. This team is not improving like it should. In fact, it is regressing in many areas. Third week into the season and we're still making stupid first game mistakes. Sloppy undisciplined play. 13 penalties for 140 yards yesterday. Jeezus TittyFucking Christ. :ohno:

UGA, lol.

I had asked about what's wrong with GSU. Apparently nothing. I got my GSU's mixed up.
