Maybe not, but - they're kicking the shit out of us just 75 years after WW2 left them a starving third-world shithole.
You measure their success by current position in the world market. Perhaps we should ask their populace how they feel? Or how about the Uyghurs?
They're going to keep pulling away while we piss away our money on a military that can't do shit.

It takes a really special brand of soft-headedness to think otherwise, given the evidence.

It's almost like these people have never read a history book, or talked to an immigrant that fled one of those countries that has tried socialism "the wrong way".
 You raise a very good point that is actually, if you think about it, Republicans should be using more and more. Why do you think so many immigrants flee to the US? It isn't because of our stellar, efficient and affordable healthcare industry. It's because even with all our problems, America is one place where within 1 generation a poor, destitute family can begin to see positive change. They can come poor, have their children educated and within a generation or two join the middle class. Heck, it might not even take that long for some. We have a free and stable government (despite the rants and ravings from looneys on the Right and Left) that is a sigh of relief when you consider they're coming from authoritative governments or even weak, poorer democracies (which are probably stood up by America). Even CHINA has realized that pure communism/socialism won't work. Their industry and the symbiotic consumer relationship with the US is proof enough.

Everybody considers themself to be "playing fair", whatever that means. And maybe we could play the global economic game without our hands tied behind our back if we weren't letting our infrastructure collapse in favor of showering money on a Pentagon that can't even account for what happened to a couple of trillion dollars of it. :coffee:

All that money spent on dominating the planet militarily and we can't even help out a neighbor who's in a jam. :ohno:

Yeah. The big bad pentagon is the problem. The “hands tied behind our backs” comment is referencing our self imposed sanctions/limits on businesses regarding global warming, carbon offset requirements, focusing on stupid social issues, taxation, etc., etc., while the countries that aren’t worried about this shit (or get a pass, like China), are kicking our asses economically.

I thought the reason for spending most of your tax dollar on defense was just for times like these. Turns out we could have saved a whole bunch of money and got the same results. Just sayin.. :coffee:

Which is complete baloney, because despite population growth, there’s a couple million less people working than before the pandemic, when the unemployment rate was a little higher.

Which is the problem with reporting the U3. What should be reported instead are U6 (currently 6.9%), and the labor force participation rate, which is down.

450,000 new jobs last month.

So sad to see your hate of Biden take precedence over the health of your nation.

LFPR went down Obama’s 1st 7 years in office 2009-2015.
2016-2019 Obama’s last yr and Trump’s 1st 3 it inched up.
2020 I blame China, although was stupid to pay people up to 1.5 yrs enhanced unemployment not to work. That’s on both although more Biden because the 3rd round was completely unecessary overkill.

Down 1.6 million employed from Jan 20’, but due to population growth would have to gain 3+ million (158 million + employed now) to get the LFPR from 62.4% now back to 63.4% was Jan 2020. So wake me up when that happens.
