The amazing thing about this presidency is that nobody is getting what they want
Nobody... even the people desperately pretending it's fabulous aren't getting what they want

Lose your job, and it's the most important issue. Feeling secure in your job allows people to fret about less important issues.

My suggestion is to let them continue doing so

That is 100% true

I’ve given up on fiscal responsibility- a collection of people such as ourselves cannot avoid electing manna from heaven politicians. So I am resigned to the fact that we will continue this course until other countries begin making our financial decisions for us, and then future governments will adopt inflationary policies (after the world switches over to trading on the Yuan) and then grandchildren I likely will never know will be the ones who suffer. I’m not even that concerned anymore that they will look back at me as a member of one of the most vile generations that was ever shat out onto this country.

My real irritation now is that Republicans, by surrendering principle and reason, are legitimizing the equally heinous left. When we swing back it is going to be a long, deep arc

Whatever good there was in the core beliefs of the mainstream Left
it was long ago taken hostage re-written or just thrown out

With Trump in charge
The middle Right has been racing downward to meet the middle left in a mad race to the bottom

the left and right now embrace each other in a smoldering flaming swan dive
with the ultimate destination somewhere well beneath common good

each having long ago cast aside dignity and self respect
neither is capable of recognizing it's own reflection as they race towards the shining surface
of an ocean of sewage

and we cheer them on from the festering garbage cluttered shoreline
each of us standing shin high in our own feces screaming for an outcome that satisfies our anger

and when the two plummeting titans hit the surface
we are all swept away in a flaming tidal wave of sewage

BTW, if Trump isn’t under audit, John Koskinen or his current ilk in the IRS netherworld would have leaked it by now.

Ok since I started this thread I feel compelled to say that I have learned that every President gets audited while they are President. So I'd need to amend the poll to refer to the period prior to when he was elected.

I previously couldn't have imagined a political landscape where the party of transparency and honor
spends a wild two year ride doing a hard about face and defending everything they professed to hate
because they got handed a lemon for president

Carry on gentlemen...
defending the indefensible and explaining the inexplicable

It is an ill fitted suit that is never quite in style
only to be worn as a last resort shortly after disrobing your honor and shimmying off your dignity
Hung in the darkest closet of shame worn for lack of anything else to wear

That’s a dumb question...of course it will be leaked...the Democrats are involved...

But my hope is the DoJ investigation will lead back to the Committee Chairman who facilitates the release, and he or she will face jail time...

Nobody is going to jail

There are some who should....

But I have lived in countries where the “peaceful transfer of power” is accompanied by indictments and people fleeing to London

And yes - that means some people really are above the law (see: Hillary Clinton)

I’ve seen the alternative and it is not pretty. We DO NOT want to be west Africa.

The only reason its peaceful is because there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and the establishment Democrats. We get the gubmint we deserve and this is about what we deserve for Citizen's United. :coffee:
