Anyone thinking the donks will offer anything substantial in the next 3 weeks is delusional.

That said, no way Trump has another shutdown. My money is him going the "Emergency Act" route. donks will judge shop to get the wall stopped but some of it will get built while it takes its time going through the courts.

Good news is the "new NAFTA" trade deals will now get passed as that was being held up due to the shutdown.

What was the final tally on the duration? Did it hit the 6 week mark?
This. Trump has no leverage so the Donks will not negotiate on anything substantial. The threat of a shutdown was better leverage than the actual shutdown. It's a hollow threat now that the Donks know the Conks will cave.

I watched the Jeanine Pirro show last night. It was something else. She started off with her take; which was that Donald Trump did what he did out of concern for Federal employees suffering. She even said something to the effect of real leaders doing what's right instead of sticking their finger in the wind.

Well, we all know what really happened. Trump did what he did because he was losing the PR battle and also because a Republican Senators were really starting to grouse. Sticking a finger into the wind is exactly what he did.

And that's why nobody took Mick Mulvaney's comments seriously today when he said that Trump wouldn't hesitate to shut down the government again in 19 days.

No, he won't. He saw what it did to his poll numbers.

If not it was on a tehnicality. There is still a strong anti-houndawg faction here constantly working against the trut.....a vast right-wing conspiracy...

How bad that road has gotten is a modern wonder
Potholes still there but at least the sawhorses that block the lane closure have been picked up. GW Parkway also has some major craters. Almost lost a wheel last week near CIA.

It was also the donks refusal to compromise. It takes 2 to tango.

It's a party Twitter account. Show me the political party that tweets damning stuff about a President, in office, from their own party, and I'll be shocked. Just doesn't happen.

Oh c'mon BDK. The Democrat position holding that they were not going to negotiate as long as Trump was using an extortion tactic was totally reasonable. Now that the hostages have been released we'll see if they are willing to compromise on some things.

It's negotiating from a position of strength after your opponent shat his pants the last time.

Short answer they will not. Reason: lose the illegal vote.

What the GOP needs to do is run a huge ad campaign with tapes of Dim leaders supporting wall.

Missing the point, as usual.

"No wall, no discussion."

That means, "no negotiation"

Surely even someone with his knickers in a constant wad over semantics should get that.
