Trip - being prepared for an emergency is SMART not PARANOIA. Have the essentials to survive for a short while when power gets restored, you can get home, during civil unrest (because, that hasn't happened in America lately) is good planning. In 1989, a Cat 5/4 hurricane struck Charleston. It took us 2.5 weeks to get out of our neighborhood and another 3 months for power to be restored. It's those sort of events that you should "prep" for. A solar flare triggering an outage of our technology dependent world is a reality.

I don't disagree that having provisions to get through 2-3 weeks is a bad idea. I don't think a gun is part of that equation though.

Lol wut? If progressive societies thought in terms of apocalyptic scenarios and a breakdown of all social norms, humanity would never advance. That's some real prepper stuff you've listed. If we're to fear those things, people might as well ditch technological advancements and go back to the very basics.

A naturally occurring EMP like the 1859 Carrington, or one from a nuke, isn’t that far fetched happpening in our lifetimes, where you’re so called ‘smart’ guns would become nothing more than expensive paperweights. No thank you.

I haven't heard a single NRA asswipe call for any recognition of our brave school children laying down their lives for our right to bear arms. Not one. These kids are heroes who put their lives on the line every day and they do it for free and they don't spend their days reminding everyone what heroes they are.

I haven't heard a single NRA asswipe call for any recognition of our brave school children laying down their lives for our right to bear arms. Not one. These kids are heroes who put their lives on the line every day and they do it for free and they don't spend their days reminding everyone what heroes they are.
